Superman: Legacy Casts A Flash & Gotham Veteran As Metamorpho

Anthony Carrigan has been cast as Metamorpho in the Superman: Legacy film.

Recently Emmy nominated for his role on Barry, actor Anthony Carrigan has landed a role in the Superman: Legacy film — and it’s not his first go into the DC Universe.

Anthony Carrigan will be playing Rex Mason a.k.a. Metamorpho in the 2025 movie, but fans of DC TV should already be very familiar with his work. He was Kyle Nimbus a.k.a. The Mist on The Flash CW television series and then played Victor Zsasz in several episodes of FOX’s Gotham.

Metamorpho is known as “The Element Man” in DC Comics and was introduced nearly 50 years ago in DC Comics. He was a fixture in the Outsiders comic book series as well as various Justice League comics in the 1990s. As far as we know, this is likely the live-action debut for the character.

Carrigan’s casting was revealed today by The Hollywood Reporter.

The first official picture of David Corenswet in costume as Superman is finally here.

Director James Gunn’s new Superman movie itself might not be out until July of 2025, but fans today got their first look at Corenswet wearing the costume after an “S” reveal happened a few months back. The “S” is inspired by the design from Alex Ross in the Kingdom Come comic book series, and the suit itself looks to be less colorful than expected, but still very solid. And… are those underpants on the outside that we see? We can’t wait to see this in action!

Superman stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and more. It is expected to release to theaters July 11, 2025.

Adding to the recent casting announcement of Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent comes another scoop from TheWrap that Clark’s adoptive mother Martha Kent will be played by Neva Howell in James Gunn’s Superman.

Howell’s previous credits include playing a “Farmer Lady” in a Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, which should prepare her well for playing the agricultural matriarch. Other credits for Mrs. Howell include an extensive role on Beckinfield.

The new Superman film from director James Gunn is due to be released in theaters July 11, 2025; the film will star David Corenswet as Clark/Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The movie is currently filming as we speak.

James Gunn’a 2025 Superman film has found its Jonathan “Pa” Kent, according to a report from The Wrap.

Pruitt Taylor Vince (Heroes Reborn, Stranger Things, Murder One) has landed the role as Clark Kent’s adoptive father on Earth. No word yet on who will be playing Martha… why did we say that name?

The new Superman film is due in theaters July 11, 2025. The movie stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. Other DC characters appearing in the film include Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Green Lantern Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), The Engineer (Maria Gabriela de Faria), and Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan).
