Creation’s 25th Anniversary Salute to Smallville: The Full Guest List

Article arrow_drop_down

On November 7-8 this year in Nashville, Creation Entertainment is hosting their third “Salute to Smallville” convention. The show’s four leads will, of course, be there — Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk, and Erica Durance. There are also some folks who have never been to a Smallville-only convention before, like Cassidy Freeman, Serinda Swan, Helen Slater and Phil Morris as well as show creators Alfred Gough & Miles Millar.

And that’s not all! Laura Vandervoort, Aaron Ashmore, Eric Johnson, Sam Jones III, John Glover and Erica Cerra will be rounding out the guest list. But hey — for an easy guide for who will be there… KryptonSite, of course, has you covered. Read on, and to buy admission passes or get photo ops, visit Creation’s website!

NOTE: This guest list is accurate at the time of this writing (October 19) but could change between now and the show in early November.

TOM WELLING

Tom Welling played Clark Kent in all ten seasons of Smallville. He also directed several episodes and is currently the co-host of the “TalkVille” podcast with Michael Rosenbaum.

MICHAEL ROSENBAUM

Considered by many to be the best Lex Luthor acting portrayal of all time, Michael Rosenbaum is an actor, musician, and host of the podcasts “TalkVille” and “Inside of You.”

KRISTIN KREUK

For seven seasons and some bonus episodes in Smallville Season 8, Kristin Kreuk played Lana Lang, Clark’s first love. Since Smallville she’s been a lead in three TV series (!!) and she is currently one of the authors of a comic book called Black Star that you should all be checking out.

ERICA DURANCE

“Lois. Lois Lane.”

These three words changed the trajectory of Smallville forever when Erica Durance first appeared on the series. Erica’s other credits include Saving Hope, Supergirl (where she played Kara’s Kryptonian mother, Alura!) and the Crisis on Infinite Earths miniseries where she and Tom Welling reunited as Clark and Lois for the first time.

We hear she is also a super mom.

ALFRED GOUGH & MILES MILLAR

As far as we know, Smallville creators Alfred Gough & Miles Millar have not attended a convention to talk about Smallville since before the show’s seventh season way back in 2007.

They are now the showrunners of the Netflix hit Wednesday, and also have the best live-action Spider-Man movie (Spider-Man 2) among their credits.

JOHN GLOVER

In one word: Magnificent.

John Glover is not only an accomplished actor of TV, film and theatre — he is also a much-loved icon to the fans of Smallville. His performance as Lionel Luthor was legendary, and the man behind him is full of incredible stories.

And yes, that photo is totally from the Season 4 photoshoot.

CASSIDY FREEMAN

What’s better than two Luthors? Three of them!

You’ve probably seen Cassidy Freeman on such TV series as Longmire and The Righteous Gemstones. But we knew her first as Tess Mercer in Smallville’s final three seasons. Cassidy’s performance as Tess was a highlight of those last years.

LAURA VANDERVOORT

In addition to acting on such series as Smallville, V and Bitten, Laura Vandervoort is an award-winning director and producer of her own projects.

For a generation of fans, she was their favorite Supergirl. (There were some other great ones as well, which you’ll find when you keep reading!)

AARON ASHMORE

Call him Henry, call him Jimmy… just don’t call him Eric Summers because that was his brother.

Aaron’s been in recent shows such as Ginny & Georgia and SkyMed so he keeps very busy. Also, who here remembers Killjoys? Great show.

Aaron came to the first Salute to Smallville and it will be a great time to see him again!

SAM JONES III

Damn… who’s that?

Sam Jones III made his first Salute to Smallville appearance last year and was greeted with fans who loved him as Pete. You might also remember him from Blue Mountain State. Today, Sam is a bit of a motivational speaker and trainer, and yes, this, too, seems to be a picture from the Smallville days.

ERIC JOHNSON

Eric Johnson may have played Whitney, Clark’s rival for Lana’s affections, but in real life, he’s an extremely nice guy. Returning to Salute to Smallville for his second round… our Captain!

SERINDA SWAN

Remember when the casting sides referred to Zatanna as “Cassie?” The extremely prolific Serinda Swan (Reacher, Inhumans, Coroner and more!) is joining Salute (and conventions in general) for the first time this year! Siht si doog swen!

PHIL MORRIS

Fans will be in for a treat when Phil Morris makes his way on stage! With an encylopedic knowledge of all things Martian Manhunter, Smallvile’s “John Jones” has some stories from his decades of acting – from being a child actor on Star Trek all the way to Mission: Impossible, Seinfeld, The Love Boat and more!

Did we mention his father was the legendary Greg Morris? Or that his sister, Iona, voiced the iconic X-Men character Storm? Well, we have now!

HELEN SLATER

Appropriately in the same year we get a Supergirl movie, we get THREE Supergirls (sort of) at Salute to Smallville!

Helen Slater played Lara, Clark Kent’s Kryptonian mother, on Smallville but she may be best known for playing Kara/Supergirl in the 1984 Supergirl film. It’s her first time at Salute and she has a – pun intended – Super career! (We still miss The Lying Game. Sorry not sorry.)

ADRIANNE PALICKI

The first time we got a Supergirl on Smallville it was the faux-“Kara” who was actually… well, you watch the episode “Covenant” and see for yourself; it’s one of the best episode!

Adrianne Palick’s many other credits include Supernatural, a Wonder Woman pilot where she played the lead character, The Orville, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. She was also G.I. Joe’s Lady Jaye so bring your action figures to get signed! We are still mad that we never got a Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird show.

ERICA CERRA

Whether it’s in Eureka or as ALIE on The 100, Erica Cerra has had many memorable roles – and three of them were on Smallville!

She was an aide to Lex and a sorority girl, but her most famous episode may be “Isis” where she played Adrianna Tomaz! Fun fact mentioned at last year’s Salute to Smallville: There was a time when “Isis” was conceived of having Erica Cerra’s character becoming Isis rather than Lois… which would make sense, considering the comics fate of that character.

CRAIG BYRNE

So… uh… yeah. You know me. I wrote this article! And I’m one of the hosts for Salute to Smallville for the third year in a row, sharing the stage with my good pal Derek Russell.

In addition to KryptonSite and several other websites including KSiteTV, GreenArrowTV and more, I was the author of four Smallville season companion guides – I’d still love to do more to finish the series! – as well as Smallville: The Visual Guide.

DEREK RUSSELL

The other host of this event, Derek is the creator of the House of El podcast (formerly known as Starkville’s House of El or SHoE). He’s back for his third year here and recently interviewed most of the cast on his show!

So there you have it! November 7-8 in Nashville. Will we see you there? Hopefully!
