Supergirl Overnight Ratings: Were Viewers Affected By “Myriad?”

Supergirl overnight ratings took a dive with “Myriad.”

So was it the break last week (seemingly the 9th or 10th this year), the lack of The Flash on the show this week, or some mind control from Kryptonians that made Supergirl ratings take a jump off of CatCo this week?

Myriad JamesIt certainly wasn’t a quality issue, as this week’s episode was really good.

In any event, in the Ages 18-49 demo, Supergirl fell to 6.20 million viewers and a 1.3/5 in the demo. On the bright side, that is better than timeslot comic book show rival Gotham, which had 3.68 million and a 1.2/4; however, that show is on FOX and Supergirl is on CBS, who are used to much bigger numbers.

If you have friends who have Nielsen ratings boxes, NOW is the time to urge that they watch so there will for sure be a Supergirl Season 2.

We personally still think Season 2 is a thing that will be happening, but lower ratings are certainly not helping the case.

How about no preview at the end of the last episode? When the CW shows have breaks at least they have previews with the return date. CBS shows nothing and this is the result.

Not a big deal, as it’s springtime in much of the country, and most shows on Monday were down as a result (even The Voice). DVR and PPV are the going things now. Live isn’t as big a factor as it used to be, and Supergirl always performs well in Live+3 and Live+7 stats. It’s a show that a lot of fans watch repeatedly, too.

It’s sad that Supergirl’s “better rating than most super hero shows” always end up to be mediocre because it’s on CBS, America’s most watched channel. If Supergirl is in a smaller network, it would’ve been gold mine like how Flash and Arrow are to CW. The expected goal won’t be this high. The show is doing so well on its own and having the same up and down of ratings compared to anything on TV. It’s being magnify so much as if it’s failing but it really isn’t. I wish CBS can see how Supergirl is bringing them really positive press and a much younger demographics compared to their other shows. Mostly, it’s episodic. Not all CBS shows make me feel like I gotta follow up every week.

The overnight ratings for the first showing of Krypton on Wednesday, March 21 are in… and they’re good!

This even beat the finale of the highly-publicized American Crime Story: Versace over on FX, and it seems it was the highest-rated scripted cable drama for the night! Not bad.

You can catch repeats of the Krypton premiere on Syfy at the following times:

March 24, 2018 2:00AM
March 25, 2018 10:55PM
March 26, 2018 3:00AM
