Cat Grant Coming To Smallville? UPDATED
10-8-09
Here's a nice rumor for you: The Internet Movie Database is listing actress Emilie Ullerup as playing the role of "Cat Grant" in the upcoming Smallville episode "Crossfire."
This information has not yet been confirmed by any official sources, or even any unofficial ones. However, so little information is known about some plotlines of that episode that it could be possible. There IS a character named "Catherine" in the story.
Be warned though that IMDb DOES occasionally have incorrect listings as it features user-submitted content. The listing for the episode "Kandor" lists Laura Vandervoort as a guest star, and we have learned that is not the case. (She is currently maintaining a busy schedule shooting V.)
Cat Grant was famously played by Tracy Scoggins for one season on Lois & Clark. Ullerup's previous credits include Sanctuary.
Stay tuned, and hopefully we'll hear more on this. Thanks to Jason1040 for bringing this to our attention.
Allison Mack Confirms Season 10 For Welling? Plus, Details On Her Own Future UPDATED
5-11-09
In an interview with indieWIRE's Matt Dentler to promote her new film You, Allison Mack (Chloe) has confirmed the rumors (below) that Tom Welling has signed for a 10th season. It also appears she has confirmed her character's season finale survival; unless, of course, she was being crafty with her words.
Here's what she had to say:
"The latest with Smallville is that we have another season [after this season’s finale on May 14]. Tom has signed for two more, so the show will go until season 10. I will be completed with my contract next year, and I am looking for new and exciting ways to carry out my character’s exit. I love living in Vancouver, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I love the people, the food, the aesthetic, and the life I have built here. It’s wonderful."
Smallville has now officially been renewed for a ninth season, but don't count out the possibility of a spin-off just yet.
With Smallville's ratings being what they are, The CW might want to keep things going in the TV-DC Universe a bit more. No ideas yet on casting or concept, or if this is anything more than a rumor, but it's something to think about....
