Video: Dean Cain Offers Advice For New Superman Tyler Hoechlin

Dean Cain co-hosted Access Hollywood Live recently and spoke about the casting of Tyler Hoechlin as the new Superman on Supergirl. What did he have to say?

“First of all, I’m a little disappointed it wasn’t me. I wanted to play two roles,” he joked before giving his serious answer.

“No, my first piece of advice for Tyler is he’s gonna have to wax his chest. You can’t have any hair peeking over that ‘S’ there,” he said. (Has he seen Henry Cavill’s Superman, we wonder?)

“Good luck to him. Work out, stay fit,” he added. “I don’t mind that there’s a new Superman all the time. It’s a good thing.”

Also in the video, Dean talked about what it’s been like to play Jeremiah Danvers on Supergirl.

“It’s actually kind of a surreal thing going from being The Guy to being The Dad,” he said, adding that he will be back in Season 2. “It’s odd, but it’s a great show. [Melissa Benoist] is so good. She is fantastic.”
