Recasting Announced For Supergirl’s “Midvale”

Young Kara and Young Alex won’t look the same when we get the Danvers sisters flashback episode “Midvale” this season.

The episode, which will be the sixth installment of Supergirl Season 3, will have different actors placing the younger selves of Kara and Alex.

Young Kara, originally played by Malina Weissman, will now be played by Izabela Vidovic (The Fosters), according to EW. You can find a picture of Vidovic at the top of this article. Weissman is now starring in the Netflix show A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Meanwhile, TV Line has Olivia Nikkanen (The Americans) tapped as the newest actress to play Young Alex, replacing Jordan Masarati.

“Midvale” sees Kara and Alex on a road trip to their hometown, where “they relive a murder mystery from high school that shaped their relationship as we know it,” according to EW. “You’ll get to see, through the way they interact, how their relationship started when Kara first came to Earth, how it grew, how it became so close and why they’re so close nowadays,” Melissa Benoist told them on a recent set visit.

Those two actors aren’t the only recastings this year when it comes to flashback characters: Alura, originally played by Laura Benanti, is now being played by Smallville’s Erica Durance.

Supergirl Season 3 premieres October 9 on The CW; “Midvale” is scheduled for November.
