From the Archive: Newspaper Headlines, Smallville-Style

About a decade ago, KryptonSite webmaster Craig Byrne authored several of the official companion books for Smallville… and the journey of writing those books also led to some access to some very cool things.

While going through some old files, the imagery used to create the “Queen Industries CEO Missing, Presumed Dead” newspaper was found. As we know, this was one of the first things we ever saw on Smallville in the pilot episode. Some behind the scenes trickery can be noted: Obviously, not all of the articles seen here make a lick of sense, and it’s odd in retrospect that neither of Oliver Queen’s parents are even named in the newspaper, which, if you read more closely, has more to do with a meteor shower than a shipwreck. There’s no mention of Oliver’s sister Thea, either… oh wait, wrong show.

It’s still a fun look back, and you can find that below. Craig Byrne’s Smallville companion books can still be purchased here.
