Exclusive: Several Characters Will Be In Superman & Lois Flashbacks

KryptonSite has learned some new details about characters appearing in The CW’s Superman & Lois series.

While we have gotten word that characters such as Lana Lang, Martha Kent, and Sam Lane will be seen in The CW’s upcoming Superman & Lois TV series, KryptonSite has learned that a few icons from Superman’s past may be showing up in the series premiere, as we get some flashbacks to show how things got to the present day.

As always, things could change: After all, the original pilot script for Arrow made mention of Cat Grant of all people hosting on Channel 52; when the show went to series, that was not a thing, paving the way for Calista Flockhart who appeared on Supergirl. Also, with the greater DC landscape, permissions can and do change for which characters we are allowed to see.

So who might we see?

Jonathan Kent before his death: We’re not sure if we’ll see his death scene or possibly the moment that Jonathan and Martha Kent found baby Kal-El. In any event, the character – famously played in the past by such actors as Glenn Ford, Kevin Costner, John Schneider, and Eddie Jones — will likely make an appearance.

Perry White: Great Caesar’s Ghost, did you really think we wouldn’t see him?

Ron Troupe: A Daily Planet character that married Lucy Lane in the comics.

Max Mencken: A character mostly known from other media as a gossip reporter for the Daily Planet, he was played by Katie Cassidy’s grandfather Jack Cassidy in the musical “It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s Superman!” Interestingly, Katie’s uncle Patrick Cassidy played Mencken in a stage production… and Patrick played Lana Lang’s biological father Henry Small in Smallville as well as a man who pretended to be Lex Luthor Jr. in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. And yet Marvel are the ones who claim “It’s All Connected!”

We hear characters like Pete Ross and Morgan Edge might at the very least be mentioned as well. Morgan Edge appeared on Supergirl where he was played by Adrian Pasdar; Pete, of course, was famously played by Sam Jones III on Smallville.

Stay tuned for more Superman & Lois news as it becomes available and be sure to follow our Twitter accounts for the show: @KryptonSite and @SupermanLoisTV if we happen to end up using it more! As the coming weeks approach we are sure to hear a lot more casting news.

The CW has announced their Fall 2024 schedule which will see the 10-episode final season of Superman & Lois on a new night.

The new destination for the Lane-Kent family will be Thursdays at 8PM ET/PT where it will be paired with a new version of The Librarians called The Librarians: The Next Chapter.

Season 4 will star Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane, Alex Garfin as Jordan, Michael Bishop as Jonathan, and Michael Cudlitz as Lex Luthor. Flash Cast Member To Appear In The Superman & Lois Finale

An actor from The Flash has announced that he has a role in the Superman & Lois series finale.

Published

on

The Flash’s Tom Cavanagh is not finished appearing in the Arrowverse (or Arrowverse-adjacent) shows, as he revealed this weekend at the FAN EXPO Philadelphia event on May 4 that he will be playing a role in the Superman & Lois series finale.

In the panel, Cavanagh explained how he preferred directing premieres or finales and had long grown a trust with showrunner Todd Helbing that he could always deliver, dating back to The Flash’s 100th episode which he directed. Since the Superman & Lois Season 4 finale is being directed by Gregory Smith, Cavanagh wasn’t able to do the finale this year, but instead, Helbing suggested that he appears in front of the camera.

“The finale for ‘Superman & Lois’ was taken up already, and so I said, ‘Well, I’m happy to not do it,’ which is when Todd was like ‘Well, would you play a role?’ And so that’s coming up, for those of you that watch ‘Superman & Lois’ — something that I’m happy to have done,” Cavanagh explained at the panel.

The question now, of course, is who will Tom Cavanagh be playing? Harrison Wells or a variation of him? Eobard Thawne? Or, could it be someone entirely new… after all, Superman & Lois is not set in the same part of the multiverse. Or, he said “a role” – could it be something behind the scenes, and that to assume it’s an acting role could be a jump to conclusions. Either way, chances are good we won’t find out for sure until Superman & Lois Season 4 starts airing this Fall on The CW. For now, though, it might be fun to speculate. How lucky am I, to have been able to inhabit this woman’s bones, and brain, and heart, for the last 4 years.

Lois Lane has been an icon for as long as Superman has because of her fierceness, her work ethic, her determination, her playfulness, her commitment to finding the truth no matter the cost.

Thank you to our creator Todd Helbing, co-showrunner Brent Fletcher, all of our writers and producers and post-production team, our incredible VFX department.
