Might Superman & Lois Take Place In Smallville?

The upcoming CW television series Superman & Lois might take place in a location familiar to fans of Superman TV shows.

Now that we know that The CW’s in-development Superman & Lois TV series starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch is for sure casting two teens, we’ve also done some more digging, and unless the casting process is masking this series so heavily that even locations and tone can change in casting sides, it looks like the series may be taking place in a small town. With farms.

There’s also the teenage aspect which was previously discussed, with the character that we assume is Jonathan Samuel Kent, son of Clark and Lois. The character we assume to be Jon is 14 years old and already on his way to becoming “a physical specimen” — he’s also very polite, thoughtful of others, and declines a spot on the football team because it would cost another, older kid his spot. But another scene involves the “Matthew” and “Ethan” characters being cast (again, we’re assuming Jon and someone else, possibly Damian Wayne, possibly not) visiting their friend from school “Lauren” in the barn on a farm. They’re talked about as if they are from the “big city” and have recently moved to… wherever they are living now, where there are farms. It should also be noted that farm equipment is new to them — the boys don’t even know what a hay baler is.

There are two possibilities here, if this is indeed the route the Superman & Lois series will take. One is that the series may take place in Smallville, which would save some location scouts some time since the perfect “Kent Farm” is already there and available in Vancouver. The other goes back to some DC comic books of recent years. In the Superman: Lois and Clark series written by Dan Jurgens, the Lois and Clark of the pre-Flashpoint world are living in California under assumed names and raising Jon, but then they moved to Hamilton County about three hours outside of Metropolis. Hamilton County especially could very well be the location where this series takes place.

It’s also possible that the location is none of the above places. The casting sides mention a “Traxler Park,” which according to Google is a location in Wisconsin. In any event, stay tuned for more hints as they may become available!

Flash Cast Member To Appear In The Superman & Lois Finale

An actor from The Flash has announced that he has a role in the Superman & Lois series finale.

The Flash’s Tom Cavanagh is not finished appearing in the Arrowverse (or Arrowverse-adjacent) shows, as he revealed this weekend at the FAN EXPO Philadelphia event on May 4 that he will be playing a role in the Superman & Lois series finale.

In the panel, Cavanagh explained how he preferred directing premieres or finales and had long grown a trust with showrunner Todd Helbing that he could always deliver, dating back to The Flash’s 100th episode which he directed. Since the Superman & Lois Season 4 finale is being directed by Gregory Smith, Cavanagh wasn’t able to do the finale this year, but instead, Helbing suggested that he appears in front of the camera.

“The finale for ‘Superman & Lois’ was taken up already, and so I said, ‘Well, I’m happy to not do it,’ which is when Todd was like ‘Well, would you play a role?’ And so that’s coming up, for those of you that watch ‘Superman & Lois’ — something that I’m happy to have done,” Cavanagh explained at the panel.

The question now, of course, is who will Tom Cavanagh be playing? Harrison Wells or a variation of him? Eobard Thawne? Or, could it be someone entirely new… after all, Superman & Lois is not set in the same part of the multiverse. Or, he said “a role” – could it be something behind the scenes, and that to assume it’s an acting role could be a jump to conclusions. Either way, chances are good we won’t find out for sure until Superman & Lois Season 4 starts airing this Fall on The CW. For now, though, it might be fun to speculate. Here’s what she wrote:

How lucky am I, to have been able to inhabit this woman’s bones, and brain, and heart, for the last 4 years.

Lois Lane has been an icon for as long as Superman has because of her fierceness, her work ethic, her determination, her playfulness, her commitment to finding the truth no matter the cost.

Thank you to our creator Todd Helbing, co-showrunner Brent Fletcher, all of our writers and producers and post-production team, our incredible VFX department. Superman & Lois Finishes Backlot Filming; Finale Photos & Guests

Filming on the Superman & Lois backlot has wrapped and new photos and guest stars have leaked for the finale.

Published

We’re down to the final days of production for Superman & Lois and Elizabeth Tulloch has shared on her Instagram story that they have finished filming on the Cloverdale backlot that was built for the show in 2020. Interestingly, she also pointed out that the backlot will soon be used for a major project. No word on what show will be taking over the lot, but she says the show is “very prestigious.”

Next up, via “flashfacts4real” on Instagram who shared the photos from Canadagraphs, some shots from the finale filming! Several not-yet-announced returning faces who were no longer series regulars seem to be present. It’s very interesting that we see a fairly beat-up Superman in one shot; we’re also fascinated by the “25 Years of Steelworks Industries” shot which shows artwork of John Henry Irons (Wolé Parks) in a look and a suit very reminiscent of the comics, complete with the red cape and the “S.” The “25 years” makes us wonder… are we getting a flash-forward in the final episode? That could be quite interesting, especially if we get to see what happens to the Kent family in the decades to come. It may also provide a good bookend for the series premiere which explored their past.
