Superman For All Seasons
Smallville explores the story of a young Clark Kent and his place in the world on television. In the comics, this was very well illustrated in Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's "Superman For All Seasons." This has been labeled a "must read" by many fans and also listed as the favorite Superman story of recent years by many. Check it out!

Superman: Peace on Earth
Were you impressed by Alex Ross's recent TV Guide covers featuring Smallville? Thought so. In 1998, Ross painted the oversized Superman: Peace on Earth graphic novel which is written by Paul Dini of Batman: The Animated Series fame. Every page is worth framing.
Ross also painted similar books for Batman, Wonder Woman, and Captain Marvel.

"X-RAY" REPEAT AIRS TUESDAY NIGHT!
Next week, the WB gives us a repeat of the "X-Ray" episode of Smallville. In the episode we meet a young shapeshifter who creates confusion and trouble. Did Lex rob the Smallville bank? Why is Whitney being so violent? You can find out all of the answers when a special repeat of "X-Ray" airs on Tuesday night, April 2.

The next new episode of Smallville, titled "Stray," will be airing on April 16.

Season Finale Credits

(4/1) We have learned that the first season finale of Smallville, which is scheduled to air on May 21st, will be written by executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and directed by Greg Beeman.

Here is the schedule for the rest of the first season of Smallville. As always things might change at the last minute, but considering that there are only so many weeks left in the TV season, it's unlikely.

Happy Birthday, Annette O'Toole!

(4/1) KryptonSite would like to extend "Happy Birthday" wishes to Annette O'Toole, who of course plays "Martha Kent" in Smallville. We couldn't ask for a better "Mama Kent" on the show, and we hope she has a great day.

Christopher Valin's "Nicodemus" Review Posted!

(3/29) Christopher Valin's review of the March 19 episode of Smallville has now been posted. What did he think? Read it and find out!

"Stray" Synopsis

(3/29) Here is the WB's synopsis for the next new episode of Smallville, titled "Stray":

"After Martha (Annette O'Toole) accidentally hits a young boy with her car, the Kents take him in until they can locate his parents, unaware that the boy can read minds and has unlocked the secret thoughts of Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), Lana (Kristin Kreuk), Jonathan (John Schneider) and Martha, which puts Clark's (Tom Welling) secret in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Lex must decide if he wants to take his father up on his job offer and move back to his old life in Metropolis."

"Stray" airs on April 16. For more spoiler information click here.

Smallville Novel Details!

(3/29) The Superman Homepage has posted some details about the upcoming Smallville young adult novels, several of which will be written by Cherie Bennett and Jeff Gottesfeld, who wrote the episode "Jitters."

Steve Younis reveals that the first novel, "Strange Visitor," is planned for a October 2002 release. The second novel is titled "Dragon," and the next two are planned for early 2003.

For more details consult the Superman Homepage. We'll let you know if we hear more about the novels' release or if we hear of more titles.

New Spoilers: "Obscura"

(3/28) KryptonSite has obtained some spoiler information on an upcoming episode of Smallville titled "Obscura."

So what are you waiting for? Check out the KryptonSite spoilers page and read some hints about the episode!

Guest Star & An Image From "Stray"

(3/28) The next new episode of Smallville is titled "Stray," and it involves a young runaway with the ability to read minds.

The runaway is played by an actor by the name of Ryan Kelly. Unfortunately, we're not sure that the "Ryan Kelly" listed on the Internet Movie Database matches this young man so we don't have details on him to share. However, an image from "Stray" appears to your right.

"Stray" airs April 16, 2002 on the WB, and will be the first of hopefully several new episodes in a row for the series!

Name Of The Week: "Nicodemus"

(3/27) If you hadn't heard the name "Nicodemus" before last week's episode of Smallville, prepare to hear it again.

DC Comics' Batman #601, which hit comic book stores this week, featured the villain by the name of -- you guessed it -- Nicodemus. We haven't read the issue yet to see if he has anything in common with mythical flowers in Smallville, but it still is interesting to note.

Michael Rosenbaum In Toyfare Magazine

(3/27) The latest issue of Toyfare magazine features a one-page "celebrity interview" with Smallville's Lex Luthor, Michael Rosenbaum, where he talks about what variant Michael Rosenbaum figures there should be, about his upcoming action figure, and also about playing He-Man with his brother at age 14.

You can find Toyfare at newsstands and comic book stores everywhere.

The Toyfare magazine also makes a mention that Michael will be appearing at the 2002 Wizard World Chicago convention, which will be running from July 5-7, 2002. Us here at KryptonSite prefer the San Diego con, but those of you who are planning to attend Wizard World might get a chance to meet Michael in person! We will let you know if we get confirmation of Michael's Wizard World appearance.

To your right you can see a picture of the Lex Luthor figure in the upcoming DC Direct line of Smallville action figures. The figures should be coming later this year, and in the assortment there will also be figures of Clark Kent and Lana Lang.

A High School Yearbook Photo Of Kristin Kreuk!

(3/27) Miss Windy also passed this one along -- a picture of Kristin Kreuk (Lana) when she was in high school (so many years ago!)

And for the ladies... a high school picture of Tom Welling, that was posted here on KryptonSite back in December. Click on this link to see that. Now all we need are high school photos of the rest of the cast and we'll be set! (If anyone has these or childhood photos of the cast that have not been printed in magazines or on other sites before, send in some e-mail!)

Smallville Cover, Allison Mack Interview In Cult Times Magazine

(3/20) Tom Welling and Allison Mack are on the cover of issue #79 of the UK's Cult Times magazine, which hit UK newsstands on March 21.

The issue features an interview with Allison Mack, who plays the incredibly popular "Chloe Sullivan" character. It reveals that the character was originally written to be African-American, and offers some of Allison's thoughts on the character (but no hints on famous relatives). "I'm very similar to my character," Allison told Cult Times. "Of course, she's a character and she's a bit younger than I am, so she has immaturity in her. However, we're both very excitable, we both have a ton of energy, we're both enthusiastic, and we're both nosey..."

The issue should be available in the United States soon.

To read an excerpt from the issue, click here. For more than that, keep an eye out for a copy at your local bookstore! You should also be able to order a copy through Visimag's website.

RUMOR: Smallville Moving This Fall?

(3/17) Rumors and speculation are flying about the WB's schedule for Fall 2002.

Since Smallville is one of the network's hits, they might use it to "anchor" a new night and pair something else on Tuesdays with Gilmore Girls. A lot of speculation has pointed to Smallville taking over the "Wednesdays at 8PM" spot (with Dawson's Creek moving elsewhere).

Keep in mind this is simply speculation, and nothing has been announced or will be announced until May. What do you think about this? Talk about it on the KryptonSite message board!

Smallville's Theme Song!

So what was that song playing at the beginning of Smallville?

The song is called "Save Me," and it's performed by a group called Remy Zero. You can order the CD that includes "Save Me" through Amazon.com by clicking on this link. From there you can also download the song too!
