You Winn Some, You Lose Some: Jeremy Jordan Goes Recurring For Supergirl Season 4

With one Brainiac (Jesse Rath‘s Brainiac 5) being added as a series regular for Supergirl Season 4, it is possibly not surprising that Supergirl’s original brainiac, Winslow “Winn” Schott as played by Jeremy Jordan, is headed out the door.

TV Line has revealed that Jeremy Jordan who has been a part of the Supergirl cast since the very first episode is changing his status from “series regular” to “recurring.”

“We love Jeremy, and even though he’s [not going to be around full-time], we’re not saying goodbye to Winn at all,” executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller told TV Line, insisting that his story is not over. “We’re already breaking big stories for him right now for the fall, and I think the fans will be excited to see what he has coming up.”

Winn’s departure in the Supergirl season finale airing on Monday, June 16, will see the character “ultimately fulfilling his true potential.”

We’ll see how the “recurring” thing goes as we believe similar things were said when Calista Flockhart (Cat) and Floriana Lima (Maggie) left as series regulars. Flockhart made a handful of appearances in Season 2 and only a brief cameo in the Season 3 premiere and Lima made it through only the first few episodes of Season 3, never to be seen again. Combine that with Jordan’s other projects and the prognosis for Winn’s return might not look so good.

Supergirl Season 4 will air Sundays this Fall on The CW.
