Superman & Lois Season 2 Premiere Post-Mortem: Who’s That Villain?

The producers of Superman & Lois have been pretty tight-lipped about the Season 2 villain for the show – but the final moments of the season premiere “What Lies Beneath” may have revealed, well, what lies beneath.

“I think any comic book fan is going to have a pretty good idea who one of the villains is the second they see the image on screen,” Helbing says. The rest of the audience will still be curious. “I know my mom is going to be curious, and [after] Episode 2 she’s going to be a little bit more curious, and then Episode 3 she’s going to get the answer.”

The punches to the wall are evocative of the first comic book appearances of the character Doomsday, which would be our guess. Doomsday famously killed Superman in a 1992 comic book series and has since been seen in animated projects as well as live action. Season 8 of Smallville introduced us to Davis Bloome who could turn into Doomsday; a bad CG abomination subbed in as Doomsday in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice; and the character even appeared on Syfy’s Krypton.

If anything, we should have some more answers in the next two weeks. Come talk about the Superman & Lois season premiere on our forum!
