Superman & Lois Finale: Helbing on Big Moments, Arrowverse Answers & Green Lantern?

There are a lot of big things happening in the Superman & Lois season finale “Waiting For Superman” airing tonight (June 28) at 8PM ET/PT on The CW… and we will unpack many of those things with showrunner/Executive Producer Todd Helbing here on KryptonSite soon after it’s aired on the East Coast.

But, if you want some previews of what to expect, here are some teases from the man himself:

  • Is it true we will find out in the season finale where Superman & Lois falls in the Arrowverse; i.e. is the show happening on Earth-Prime with The Flash, Supergirl and everything else? “Oh, yeah. It’s confirmed,” Helbing tells us. (Clarification: What is “confirmed” is that this is the episode where we find out; we’re not telling you whether it is or not until you’ve seen the episode!) Keep your eyes open for a big speech from Sam Lane (Dylan Walsh) which will definitively answer the question of why, say, characters like Kara or Alex Danvers haven’t been called in.
  • “We try to give everybody a shining moment,” Helbing says when asked about which characters will get shining moments in the season finale. He specifically points to John Henry Irons and Nat, and teases that “Lois is put in a particularly bizarre sort of spot with Kyle, which is interesting.” Also, the title of the episode is “Waiting for Superman,” so the team “really had a desire to make him kick ass” in this episode. “You get to see Superman do something from the comics that I don’t think has ever been done in live action before,” he hints.
  • It seems as though The Flash’s wrap-up for John Diggle (David Ramsey)’s Arrow cliffhanger might stick: There is no mention of anything “Green Lantern” in the S&L finale. And could Diggle’s appearance have anything to do with the supposedly still in development Justice U series? “I have no idea about Justice U; that’s not part of my discussions with them.”
