Supergirl Season 4: Jesse Rath Promoted To Series Regular

At least one Legionnaire will be present in Supergirl’s fourth season.

Deadline reports today that Jesse Rath (Brainiac 5) has been upgraded to series regular status for Supergirl Season 4.

We don’t know yet if Rath’s promotion will to be to fill the void left by anyone leaving the series, though we should get answers to those questions and worries when the season finale airs on Monday, June 18. Photos from the season finale can be found here.

“We love the character of Brainiac-5 and can’t imagine anyone but Jesse Rath in the role,” Executive Producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said in a statement. “He brings such fun, heart and brilliance to Brainy and we’re so excited he’s joining the cast as a series regular for season 4. We have a lot of great Brainy stories to tell.”

  • As for any possible voids that need filling, the open call that went out for the new character they're casting for next season had a list of regulars--I saw it posted on twitter and it mentioned Jesse/Brainy as a regular so I'm guessing it was legit, since that news hadn't broken yet (I saw the pic May 23rd.) It has Kara, Alex, James, Hank, Lena, and Brainy. No Winn, tho, so I'd guess he's leaving.
I hope we get to see more Legionnaires but for me, if we can only have one, I'm super happy it's Brainy is who's sticking around for the long haul!
