Supergirl Nominated For A GLAAD Media Award

Supergirl has been nominated for a GLAAD Media Award.

These awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives, and of course Season 2 of the show has taken us through Alex’s journey of discovery of herself, brought to life by great writing and direction and fantastic performances by Chyler Leigh (who plays Kara’s sister, Alex Danvers) and Floriana Lima, who plays Maggie Sawyer.

Competition is heavy: Other nominees for Outstanding Drama Series include The Fosters, Grey’s Anatomy, Hap and Leonard, How to Get Away with Murder, The OA, Orphan Black, Shadowhunters, Shameless, and Wynnona Earp.

“Sanvers” has gotten Supergirl a lot of positive recognition, and now it may even net the show an award! You can find a full list of GLAAD Media Award nominees here; this year’s GLAAD Media Awards shows will take place in early April.
