Smallville Ended Five Years Ago Today

Five years ago today, Jonathan Kent (John Schneider) told his adopted son to “always hold on to Smallville.”

And the fans have followed Mr. Kent’s advice. While new superheroic favorites (including a Kryptonian!) have made their way to The CW, even the most casual fan of the series will admit there will always be a Smallville-shaped hole in their hearts.

While the show is not coming back, the anniversary of the show’s finale is being celebrated. KryptonSite webmaster Craig Byrne (hey, that’s me!) wrote a retrospective piece about the anniversary and Smallville itself over at Collider.com.

Feeling especially nostalgic? Check out our gallery of promotional photos for the Smallville “Finale” posted here on KryptonSite in 2001.
