Original Smallville Composer Mark Snow Has Died

Mark Snow, the composer whose melodies could be heard in multiple iconic TV series including the early seasons of Smallville, has passed away at the age of 78 according to Variety.

Snow had been working in the field for five decades and his most iconic compositions could be heard on The X-Files, which started a collaboration with Executive Producer Chris Carter that also included the eerie score to Millennium. Quite early on in his career he composed the theme music and incidentals for Hart to Hart.

In 2001, Smallville was a big and important swing and the show’s producers went to the best to create its sound. Snow composed music for the show for several seasons before passing the torch to Louis Febre in the later years. His score for the series is still available to purchase digitally.

Here at KryptonSite, we thank Mark Snow for his fantastic contributions to the TV we love. He will be missed.
