Melissa Benoist Previews This Year’s DC TV Crossover

Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist is traveling back to Earth-1 for a special event – the wedding of Barry Allen and Iris West – and this time, she’s bringing Alex (Chyler Leigh) along!

The fun begins Monday night, November 27 with the episode of Supergirl which is the first part of a longer, four-episode event that continues on through to Arrow (November 27), The Flash (November 28), and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (November 28) as the heroes fight the Nazis of Earth-X in “Crisis on Earth-X.”

During our recent visit to the Supergirl set in Vancouver, Melissa was asked about the crossover and the notion that this time, Alex is traveling with her.

“I always wished that she had been by my side for every crossover that I’ve done, which I guess are just the two last year,” Melissa said. “They are always so massive and such undertakings workload wise.”

Although last year was a massive event, this year is even bigger.

“They wrote something massive that was overwhelming to read, in an exciting way of course, but also at the same time I had to brace myself. I think we all did,” Melissa continued.

“Everyone goes to Central City to Iris and Barry’s wedding, but of course it’s the comic book world so not every wedding goes as planned. You’ll have to see, it’s pretty crazy. They get some really evil visitors from Earth-X,” she said.

At least one of those “evil visitors” will look very familiar, as those who have seen the crossover promo photos would know.

You can see video of what Melissa had to say below; Chyler Leigh’s interview about the crossover can be found here.
