“Lex Luthor” Michael Rosenbaum Wants To Write Power Pack

By now, you’ve probably already seen Smallville’s Lex Luthor, Michael Rosenbaum, in his friend James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Michael joins the roster of actors who have appeared in both Marvel and DC projects.

In a fantastic interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Michael was asked what Marvel property he’d like to write for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and his answer was… Power Pack. (For those who didn’t know already, Michael has written and directed in addition to his acting work on Smallville and other projects.)

“I’d love to write Power Pack,” Michael said. “It came out in the 80’s… these young siblings get powers from an alien race right as their dad builds this planet destroying weapon, which another alien race wants. It’s got that Spielberg/Stranger Things vibe. I could really take that concept and make it fresh.”

Power Pack was once done as a very low-budget TV pilot around 1990 which you can find on YouTube… though we don’t really recommend it. Still, Kevin Feige… write the check, because we’d love to see more of Michael’s writing on the screen.

The THR interview also details Michael’s relationship with one-time Smallville guest star and our eternal Princess, Carrie Fisher. Check it out; it’s a great read!
