Around the time Laurie Metcalf‘s classic series Roseanne returns to ABC we will also be seeing her on Supergirl!

The Big Bang Theory actress who recently had critical acclaim for her role in Lady Bird will be appearing as the mother of yet another genius when Supergirl returns on April 16.

Which genius? She’s Winn’s mom, Mary McGowan.

“I’m incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to bring Mae to work with me as I take on the guest role of Mary McGowan,” Metcalf told People who broke this news.
