Helen Slater Filming Begins? Also: Supergirl Production Chairs Revealed

Thanks to that great thing that is Twitter, it appears that Helen Slater shooting Supergirl begins tomorrow — well, actually today, since it’s after midnight at the time this article was posted. It hasn’t been revealed yet who the former Supergirl will be playing, but our money is still on Kara’s adoptive mother on Earth, Mrs. Danvers, especially since Laura Benanti has already been cast as Kara’s Kryptonian mother, Alura, and the “Helen Slater as Lara” thing happened already on Smallville.

Here’s what she Tweeted about it… unless we misunderstood her Tweet, and she thought shooting in general started the next day.

In other cool news, Supergirl Executive Producer Ali Adler posted a cool photo of the Supergirl production chairs (is there a better word for this?) on her Instagram page. You can see that below:

Craig Byrne

Craig Byrne has been writing about Superman TV since 1995, when the "Lois & Clark Krypton Club" launched. He founded KryptonSite.com in February 2001, becoming the first fan site for The WB/CW television series Smallville. He also wrote the Official Companion books for Smallville seasons 4-7 as well as the Smallville Visual Guide.

  • I can't wait to learn what role that Helen Slater will play on Supergirl. I still hope that Ms. Slater will become an regular on the series. The chair don't tell what her role will be. Good luck to the pilot and I still hope that CBS will pick up the series.
