Glenn Morshower To Play General Sam Lane In Supergirl

Actor Glenn Morshower (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., 24) has been cast as General Sam Lane in Supergirl.

The news was revealed by IGN this morning.

Supergirl’s take on Sam Lane describes him as “a powerful military lifer — and an overprotective father to both Lucy Lane and her sister, Lois. His arrival in National City stirs up trouble for Supergirl when he enlists her in a dangerous government initiative.”

General Lane is the second member of the Lane family to appear on Supergirl, with daughter Lucy coming in for the show’s third episode.

Trivia: General Lane on Smallville was played by Michael Ironside with Peyton List as Lucy. Both of them will appear as father and daughter again this season on The Flash.
