First Look Photo: Azie Tesfai is Supergirl’s New Guardian

The twelfth episode of Supergirl Season 6 titled “Blind Spots” was already going to be a big deal: Series regular Azie Tesfai (Kelly Olsen) co-wrote the episode with co-producer J. Holtham, and the episode is being directed by Arrow‘s David Ramsey. Now, The CW has shared some even bigger news: As the show has hinted to be happening, Kelly will be suiting up as The Guardian, the alter ego that was used by her brother James (Mehcad Brooks) in seasons past.

That’s not all that The CW has shared: They’ve released a first look photo of Azie Tesfai wearing the costume of The Guardian, much truer to the comic books’ color scheme than the original look on the show. The episode “Blind Spots” will deal with racial inequality and is currently scheduled to air on September 21, 2021.

Finally, this episode won’t just be directed by David Ramsey — “Blind Spots” is also the episode in which we will be seeing him guest starring as his character John Diggle who he first portrayed in the very first episode of Arrow way back in 2012.

You can see the photo below. Supergirl has a new episode this Tuesday, May 11 and then it comes back for its final run of episodes on August 24.

  • Honestly, the team doesn't need another hero. A team shrink, yes, but another hero, NO!
