Dean Cain Wants To Do Lois & Clark Season 5

Lois & Clark’s Dean Cain, who Supergirl fans know best now as “Jeremiah Danvers,” spoke to Australia’s 7 News Sydney at the recent Supanova convention that reunited the actor with his Lois & Clark costar Teri Hatcher (Supergirl’s Queen Rhea), and the biggest and best bombshell to come from the interview is that he dropped that he’d like to do a fifth season of Lois & Clark!

“We ended our show in four seasons in a weird way, because we were supposed to do a fifth season, and Teri got pregnant in between and couldn’t work on that fifth season, so they decided to shut it down,” Dean shared. “I would have liked to done that fifth season, I think we still need a fifth season; we need something, at least part of a fifth season, so I’m hoping that we get a chance to maybe finish up the series. Maybe it’s six episodes, maybe it’s ten, maybe it’s a two-hour movie, but I think it’d be really interesting to catch up with these two characters twenty years down the line and see what’s happened in their lives, and if they’ve had children, or what’s going on with their kids… I think it’s really interesting, and I’m certainly willing to, and Teri said she is willing to, so we’ll see if that can happen, that’d be interesting, somebody out there from Warner Brothers, make that happen. Let’s go!”

(ABC cancelled Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman after four seasons in 1997; at the time, there were rumors that TNT would order 13 episodes of Season 5 to bring them to 100 episodes, but then Teri did indeed become pregnant with a daughter.)

In the video which you can see below, Dean talks about what it was like to reunite with Teri, and also talked about what it was like being Supergirl’s dad and a continued part of the Superman world. He also reveals he’s jealous of Melissa’s costume and recalls a famous line from the Lois & Clark episode “Tempus Fugitive!”

Enjoy. And hey, Dean: Back before there was even a KryptonSite, we had our own thoughts on what a fifth season would be like….
