Brent Spiner Out, Bruce Boxleitner In As Supergirl’s VP

The actor playing the Supergirl Season 4 role of the Vice President of the United States has shifted from one science fiction icon to another.

Originally, Star Trek: The Next Generation alum Brent Spiner was announced to be playing Vice President Baker in Season 4 of the CW series. Unfortunately, due to a family issue with conflicted with production dates, Spiner had to bow out from the role, and instead we are getting Bruce Boxleitner of TRON, Babylon 5, Hallmark Channel, and most importantly Scarecrow and Mrs. King fame.

Here’s the description for the character, which sounds like bad news for President Marsdin (Lynda Carter):

Adept and politically minded, Vice President Baker makes for an unlikely leader, but steps up in a big way when his country needs him most.

Supergirl moves to Sundays when the show returns October 14 on The CW.
