Brandon Routh To Play Superman In This Year’s DC Crossover Crisis

A Superman from the past and another Earth is suiting up for this year’s Crisis on Infinite Earths DC TV crossover.

Brandon Routh, who currently plays Ray Palmer on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, will also be appearing in the crossover as Superman, Deadline has revealed. But that’s not all! Tyler Hoechlin will also be appearing in the crossover… as Superman.

Routh famously played the Man of Steel in the 2006 movie Superman Returns. Though the movie spawned no sequels, Routh was liked in the role.

“Honored, humbled, grateful, and still pinching myself,” Routh Tweeted when the announcement was made.

We should also add that Brandon Routh’s appearance as Superman was predicted in this year’s KryptonSite April Fool. What’s next? Tom Welling, ANSWER YOUR PHONE! (Seriously, though, we expect more announcements to come this weekend at Comic-Con.)
