Jimmy Olsen didn't deserve to die.

Yeah, it would've been awkward to have Jimmy Olsen as a divorcee or a widower by the time we see Clark becoming Superman, but Aaron Ashmore did such a great job with the character, it's really unfortunate it didn't stick.

"Doomsday" gave us Aaron's Jimmy at his best, and perhaps the way he should have been portrayed as all along - Superman's Pal. He's not a love interest. He's Superman's buddy. He's goofy. He makes gadgets. Remember "Static?" That's Jimmy Olsen for you right there.

Jimmy's death spurred a big "huh?" among the audience who felt their "iconic" characters were safe. But one cannot say it was not a good death scene and it was not shocking. For that, it took the top nod in this category with 49% of the vote.

Clark's almost-death in "Odyssey" and the death of Davis Bloome in "Doomsday" came in second and third place with 29% and 8%, respectively.
