An Original Smallville Cast Member Joins The Boys Spinoff “Vought Rising”

Jensen Ackles and Eric Johnson’s characters may not have met during their respective times on Smallville, though they both got to be the blond-haired love interests of Kristin Kreuk’s Lana Lang. Jensen played Coach Jason Teague and Eric was an original Smallville cast member, playing Whitney Fordman in the first season and in two episodes that came later. Eric was also a guest at Creation’s recent “Salute to Smallville” convention where fans were extremely happy to see him!

Today comes news, though, that Eric has landed another superhero show!

He’ll be in Vought Rising, the spinoff prequel from The Boys which will star Jensen Ackles as his “Soldier Boy” character who we’d seen earlier on the parent series alongside Aya Cash. Eric’s role is said to be recurring and no further details have been revealed. The show itself will likely be here in 2026.
