Allison Mack Released On $5 Million Bond

An update to the story of Allison Mack‘s recent troubles: The actress has been released to her parents on a $5 million bond, where she will be put up in house arrest in Los Alamitos, CA, Variety reports.

The speculation is that Allison is cutting a plea deal with the prosecution of this case to provide information against NXIVM cult leader Keith Raniere. You can read about what Allison has been accused of and what Raniere has been doing here. Raniere is still in federal custody with a bail hearing set for next week.

It was reported that Mack’s belongings were taken from her New York home in a U-Haul truck this weekend. We’re assuming they’re headed to California.

Allison will have to serve home detention with electronic monitoring and she has been ordered not to interact with anyone, past or present, who has been involved with NXIVM as part of her bail release. Regardless of what happens next, to be away from Raniere and the cult will surely be good news for the actress, and hopefully she can get the help she needs to recover from her own time associated with the group. Her internet access will be limited to communications with her lawyer. Allison will still end up facing charges and a possible sentence regardless of what happens.

Allison is, of course, most famous for her role as Clark Kent’s best friend Chloe Sullivan in Smallville.
