A Peek Inside Supergirl’s Legion Ship

A photo posted on Instagram by actor David Harewood showed off a little bit more of the Legion ship set we will be seeing soon on Supergirl. As a bonus, fan favorite Chyler Leigh (Alex) is in the photo with him!

Parts of the ship will probably be seen in the November 20 episode “Wake Up” but when we visited the Supergirl sets a few weeks back they we still under construction, likely for the “Legion of Super-Heroes” episode that will air in early 2018. We already knew that Mon-El’s Legion friends Saturn Girl and Brainiac 5 were coming soon to the series; this, apparently, is how they arrive.

The Legion of Super-Heroes first appeared in comics nearly 60 years ago, a group of heroes from the 30th century who, in their original incarnation, were inspired by the feats of Superboy. Mon-El was an early addition to the team in the comics, having arrived there after a thousand years’ exile in the Phantom Zone after being poisoned by lead. In the comics, Saturn Girl came up with the first antidote to the lead poisoning problem, and it’s likely that will be what happens on the TV show as well.

Interesting trivia: It was once considered in the comics for the Legion founder R.J. Brande to be revealed as the Martian Manhunter. #ItsAllConnected

Anyhow, you can take a look at Mr. Harewood’s photo below. An interview where Melissa Benoist previews the return of Mon-El and the Legion can be found here.
