TODAY'S L&C TOP TEN LIST (a new feature!) by JBecky (new Krypton Club secretary):

From the Home Office in Clearwater, MN (with a little help from 92, in CA), The Top Ten Reasons Clark Hasn't Told Lois (Or Anyone) He's Superman.

10. He wants Lois to like the Supersex w/o knowing why it's super.
9. He doesn't want Connie Chung asking Perry's mom what Perry thinks of Clark/Superman.
8. He wants to get all the use out of OJ's guest house he can.
7. He doesn't want to change his name to Clark Stone.
6. Humming "I Got You Babe" under his breath and wants to figure out why first.
5. Ma & Pa Kent want his powers all to themselves.
4. Doesn't want his crossdressing to interfere with his stories.
3. With his football injuries, he's afraid he couldn't score.
2. "A mild-mannered reporter? Really a superhero? Please." He never wants to prove Lois wrong.
And the #1 reason CK hasn't told Lois he's Superman.......
Two words......He's stupid!

L&C POLL UPDATE!
The opinions keep coming in! A majority of fans still thinks that Lois knows CK = Superman! Emmie says the following: "I think Lois knows because she looked a little peeved at the end, and I think that if Lois figures out Clark is Superman that she'll be upset because Clark didn't tell her right away."

OPINION ON LOIS by JennCu
Perhaps it is Clark that has made her turn more "flaky" (for lack of a better word). Pehaps she now has a partner on equal grounds and this has made her more relaxed in her reporting skills (she doesn't have to prove herself to him, she knows he's good, etc.) and also the "love thing could explain her flakiness. But none of this is any excuse for her not knowing CK=S. The VOICE IS THE SAME!!!! With looks aside, this alone should clue her in!!!! He makes the same gestures and cute little uniquely clark things and he doesn't disguise his voice at all!!!! I keep telling myself that Superman is like an alien -- such a radical difference from how she percieves Clark to be that the idea of them being the same is inconprehensible. And when she first met Supes, she fell in love with the "god" and so she didn't place him at all on the same level as Clark, a lowdown "Hick". Plus, she worked with Clark so much and he never showd any signs of powers, and Supes was almost unreal -- he was her fantasy love in a way (I don't know if this makes any sense). It does make sense, now that she's over Superman (therefore he's lowered in her mind) and realizes she loves Clark (therefore he's higher in her mind) that she's starting to put two and two together. It is stupid that she's a journalist and can't figure it out, but maybe that's the beauty of it. Of course, it will always be unrealistic that she didn't recognize CK=S sooner, but this is the best rationalization I can think of. Also, I'm glad she's figuring it out for herself, because if Clark told her, her pride would be WAY wounded and she'd feel stupid (and you know how sensitive she is about that!). Zoomway posted a great proposal scene -- he starts to tell her, she finishes the sentence -- that means she was smart enough to (finally) figure it out, but he was honest enough to (finally) tell her. Just my thoughts!!! :-)

========KRYPTON CLUB PROFILE: NORDBURGH========
Nordburgh's screen name and member name are "Nordburgh." He is single, and he was born in Long Island, New York in 1972. He's not sure what kind of computer he has because it won't tell him, and his hobbies include music, L&C, and romantic engagements. His occupation is "male heterosexual," and his quote is "If everyone would take my advice, the world would be a better place."

His favorite episode of "L&C" is "Whine, Whine, Whine" and his favorite L&C quote is "Don't have a stroke Lois, that's what police are for." He watches L&C because he "enjoys what the show stands for. It promotes morality and decency. And the romance is great too!"

TODAY'S TRIVIA
Here is the trivia question for today.....

Which L&C cast member received a Daytime Emmy for Best Afterschool Special?

The answer to yesterday's question was "The Wonder Years." EMMIE and PONTELLIER got this one right. There were a few wrong answers though. LISA FREEDMAN guessed "Red," SETAUKET JOHN guessed "Home Improvement," and SOUNDSQUAW guessed "Charles in Charge" or "The Torkelsons" (those two guesses may have been right, but I haven't seen them the "Wonder Years" was the answer I was looking for =^p)

The funniest guess was from PHILIP BARON, who said the show was "Fun Dudes." "When Landes appeared, the show was titled 'Fun Dudes', then to prepare for Whalin's role, the show was renamed 'Fun(ny looking) Duds(not duds as in clothes, duds as in "This Jimmy is a complete dud, where'd Landes go?)'."

Send your answers and trivia guesses via e-mail. Even if you don't know it, it's worth a try!

TERI HATCHER JOINS CAST OF NEW FEATURE FILM
(from ABC Primetime Entertainment Beat)

Actress Teri Hatcher has joined the cast of Rysher Entertainment's feature film "2 Days in the Valley." The contemporary drama is written and directed by John Herzfeld, produced by Jeff Wald and Herb Nanas with co-producer Tony Amatullo and executive producer Keith Samples. The feature will be distributed by MGM under the recently announced alliance between Rysher Entertainment and MGM.

Production has begun in Los Angeles with James Spader, Jeff Daniels, Danny Aiello, Glenne Headley and Eric Stoltz. Hatcher will play Becky, a vindictive former Olympic skier who arranges for hit men to kill her philandering ex-husband, setting off an explosive chain reaction of murder, intrigue and romance that impacts the lives of seemingly unreleated group of people in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley.

Hatcher will be seen next on the big screen in a provocative role in the erotic thriller "Heaven's Prisoners" with Alec Baldwin, Mary Stuart
Masterson, Eric Roberts and Kelly Lynch. Directed by Phil Joanou, "Heaven's Prisoners" is scheduled to be released by Savoy Pictures October 6.

Hatcher's previous credits include the feature films "The Big Picture",
"Tango and Cash," "Soapdish" and "Straight Talk" and such series as Norman Lear's semi-autobiographical "Sunday Dinner," "Seinfeld" and "Murphy Brown."

AN INSIGHT INTO THE INTELLECTUAL MINDS OF THE PEOPLE OF METROPOLIS by JennCu
Here are various responses to that well known and pondered question:
"Why did the chicken cross the road?"

Clark Kent: "So it could change into SuperHen."
Dan Scardino: "To find a bigger banana."
Martha Kent: "Well, now, I don't think we should be interfering with that chicken's business."
Perry White: "Didn't you know that Elvis always used to do the same thing?"
Dr. Friskin: "What do you think?"
Lois Lane: "It was trying to distance itself. Maybe I should refer it to Dr. Friskin."
Jimmy Olsen: "Because it didn't want me to take its picture."
Tempus: "DUH! To escape Utopia!"
Sarah Goodwin (from T:JO): "According to Psych 101, it wasn't simply crossing the road; it was running from its fear of intamacy."
Mazik: "It doesn't matter. I know the truth."
Perry: "Great Shades of Elvis!!! A chicken crossed the road? Clark, Lois, get on this one right away!"
(yes, this is what I do when I'm supposed to be doing a term paper)

"Did anyone notice Dean Cain's raccoon eyes? I think it was the second to the last episode that it was the most noticeable. He must have been out watching Gabby play volleyball. Look at those tan lines. Can't you see Lois,'Gee, Clark you and Superman must have been out in the sun?' Just an observation..."

TODAY'S TRIVIA
Here is the trivia question for today.....

What are Lois's parents' first names?

The answer to yesterday's question must have been too easy, because LISA FREEDMAN, SARAH GEVLIN, JENNILYN LAZO, JLEREBOURS, CHAKESPEAR, TOMMY TERENYI, JENIK369, GORDNBARB, MEREDITH66, XFMULDER, and SOUNDSQUAW all got it right. Justin Whalin was the L&C cast member who received a Daytime Emmy for his Best Afterschool Special "Other Mothers."

JENNCU guessed Dean Cain, but picked Justin as a second choice.

FORMER "SUPERMAN" IN THE HOSPITAL
Charlottesville, Va.,May 28 (Reuter) - Christopher Reeve, the actor who portrayed Superman in several films, was in stable condition and recovering in a hospital on Sunday after falling head first from a horse, a spokeswoman for the actor said.

The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon as Reeve was participating in an equestrian competition in Culpeper, Va., said Monk Reynolds, owner of Commonwealth Park where the contest took place.

``The horse just stopped dead and he went straight over the horse's head,'' Reynolds said.

Reeve, who was wearing a helmet, landed on his head and suffered a neck injury, said Lisa Kasteler, a spokeswoman for the actor. The University of Virginia Medical Centre confirmed that Reeve was admitted to the hospital but a spokesman gave no further details.

The accident on the horse ``Eastern Express'' occurred at the third jump of the cross-country Spring Horse Trials of the Commonwealth Drussage and Combined Training Association, Reynolds said.

Reeve, 42, gained international fame in 1978 when, as a little known-actor, he was chosen to portray the cartoon hero Superman. He appeared in a total of four Superman films between 1978 and 1987, and has acted both on stage and in other films.

L&C SIGHTINGS
1991's "Soapdish" will air on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. on Cinemax. It is about a soap opera queen's personal life, and features Teri Hatcher as a member of the cast.

Then, on Thursday/Friday morning at 1:10 a.m., Showtime will be airing the much-talked-about Teri Hatcher film "The Cool Surface." See what everyone's been talking about, but be warned, it's a really bad movie! But, Teri is fun to look at, so you might want to check it out anyway. =^)

CHEVY 1969 SAYS.....
"I have often seen messages in the L&C folders critical of Teri Hatcher for some of her choices in movie roles. I personally don't see anything wrong with her wanting to play characters who are very different from Lois Lane during her hiatus. I realize that some of the roles may be evil or racey (such as "The Cool Surface", "All Tied Up", and "The Brainsmasher- A Love Story") and maybe that's why they are hardly ever mentioned in her present bios. But it's possible if she has the freedom to act these other parts, then maybe she will never get bored or tired with playing Lois Lane. Hey, let's give her a break!"

L&C POLL
If you could bring back one character from L&C's past, who would it be? Here are some choices. E-mail us with one of the following names:
* Lois's Mom * Jack * Landes Jimmy
* Cat Grant * The Toyman * The Prankster
* Lex Luthor * Metallo * Lucy Lane
* Sarah * Dr. Friskin * Diana Stride
* Rolph (Diana's assistant) * Sound Man

You can also write in someone else, if they weren't mentioned.

The Top Ten Excuses Clark Can Give Lois About Why He's Always Running Off:

10. "Uh, excuse me, Lois. Call of nature."
9. "I gotta go. I'm getting a tattoo."
8. "I have to go get some special detergent for my Superman sui-- my blue vinyl suit."
7. "I just got a tip from our CA branch. An ex-football player is about to kill his ex-wife and her male friend. I'm going to phone it into Perry and call the LA cops."
6. "Melrose Place is on, I can't miss it, I'm going home."
5. "I-gotta-go-I-really-need-to-I'll-call-you-later-love-you-bye."
4. "See, we're on a TV show, and every time I run off, we both get a bonus, and the ratings go up."
3. "My 'cow-chip of the month club' shipment is probably here, let me go check, I'll be right back."
2. "Lois, I think I'm under some spell. Everytime you mention relationship/commitment to me, my inner clock chimes, I get an instant paranoia, and am forced to leave."
1. "I'm Superman. I have to go save the world." "Yeah, right, Kent. Tell me the truth."

=====KRYPTON CLUB PROFILE: CHAKESPEAR=====
Currently, I'm the Legal Intern for the Wyoming Crime Victim's Compensation Commission (one of those nice, super-hero, social service agencies).
I also write (songs and am partially done with both a screenplay and my "Great American Novel"). I TRY to play guitar, which is a nice thing to do if you write songs, but I'm not very good.
I probably hold the record for holding the greatest number of unique jobs: Alternative radio D.J., director for an acting contest sponsored by "Santa Barbara", college football ticket scalper (Univ. of Alabama), model (but I'm too short to be successful at that), front-woman for two bands, movie critic, video rental clerk (nickname = encyclopedia), bartender for a private social club, AND jewelry store saleswoman.
Enough? Or do you want more?
My favorite ep? ATAI - of course. Loved the talking into the mirror bit. I should have asked Dean why he keeps doing William Shatner imitations (i.e. Tempes - "Excuse me, did you find a baby in a spaceship"; also in ATAI w/ the mirror)
My favorite quote (there are SO many to choose from!): "...and THIS..." - if you don't know what I'm referring to - you don't watch "old" eps enough (WWW).

TODAY'S TRIVIA
Here is the trivia question for today.....

Which kid from "The Brady Bunch" appeared on an episode of L&C during the first season?

AVIGAEL4LC, EMMIE, MHEBERT974, SARAH GEVLIN, and SOUNDSQUAW all got the answer to the name of Lois's father, Sam. But no one was able to figure out that Lois's mother's name is Ellen Lane. The closest person to getting that one right was EMMIE, who guessed "Ella." Everyone did seem to know that Lois's mom was played by Phyllis Coates, who played Lois in the 1950's "Adventures of Superman" series (otherwise known as Secretary & Superman: The Old Adventures of Superman"...just kidding).

TODAY'S L&C TOP TEN LIST by Craig Byrne

From my Home office in Annapolis, Md...................
Here are the Top 10 People to Invite to L&C's Wedding:
#10. Diana Stride's assistant Rolph, because you know he wants to see Clark again sometime.
#9. Robert Patrick, so he can find Lois so they can re-enact what they did in "The Cool Surface."
#8. Jessica Fletcher, unless she's dead by the time L&C are married.
#7. Michael Landes's Jimmy, just to confuse the viewers some more.
#6. Dan Scardino, so he can see what he'll never get.
#5. Lex Luthor--you know he'd be plotting some kind of revenge!
#4. Cat Grant, so her and Lois can get in a "cat" fight over C.K..
#3. Pamela Anderson. Why? Because it's my top ten list and I feel like inviting her! <G>
#2. Jon Stewart, because he wants to know if this episode of "Lois & Clark" will be the one where Teri gets "on all fours."
And the #1 person to invite to L&C's wedding.....
Superman, even though it will be hard to explain why
Clark and Superman both aren't there at the same time.

DOES DEAN CAIN HAVE A SISTER?
Meredith66 said she read this somewhere in a teen magazine. Is this true?

TODAY'S TRIVIA
Here is the trivia question for today.....

Robert Culp appeared on several episodes of L&C as a member of Intergang. But what super-hero was he partners with in an early 1980's TV series?

The answer to yesterday's question "Which kid from the Brady Bunch guest-starred on L&C during a first season episode?" was Eve Plumb, who played Jan on the original "Bunch." SOUNDSQUAW, LISA FREEDMAN, MHEBERT974, BEVERLY GRAY, BREARLEY,KLV13, JLEREBOURS, and CLARKXX kept on dancing on through the night, and kept on getting it right. "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!"

My favorite incorrect guess was from AVIGAEL4LC who said "Which kid from the Brady Bunch? I guess it was Greg, Marsha, Jan, Bobby, Cindy or Peter." That narrows it down.... Another funny incorrect guess from PONTELLIER who guessed "Tiger," but had Jan as a second choice. Other wrong answers were from MBISHOPCAT, who guessed the guy who played Peter (Christopher Knight); AD VANCIAN, who guessed Bobby (Michael Lookinland); and ERIK LEWIS, who guessed Susan Olsen (Cindy).

Pontellier also brought something else interesting to our attention regarding the trivia question from the other day. Not only did both Jimmys (Landes and Whalin) appear on "The Wonder Years" before, so did Chris Demetral, who played Jack. Throw Tracy Scoggins in there as a seducer of Kevin Arnold and you'd have a full house!

MORE NEWS ON REEVE
Charlottesville, Va. (Reuter) - Actor Christopher Reeve, star of ``Superman'' movies, was paralyzed and breathing with the help of a respirator Wednesday after suffering a severe neck injury over the weekend, doctors said.

Reeve, 42, was thrown from a horse Saturday during trials for an equestrian event and landed on his head.

``Mr. Reeve currently has no movement or spontaneous respiration. He may require surgery to stabilize the upper spine in the near future,'' said Dr. John Jane, chairman of the neurosurgery department and Reeve's attending physician.

Reeve was in serious but stable condition at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Jane said, noting it was premature to speculate about the actor's long-term prognosis.

Reeve was riding in Commonwealth Park in Culpeper, Virginia, along with 300 other contenders hoping to qualify for the Commonwealth Dressage and Combined Training Association, according to local newspaper reports. He was on the third of 15 jumps on a cross-country course when his horse, Eastern Express, stopped, throwing Reeve.

Reeve, an accomplished rider who owns several horses, was injured despite wearing protective gear.

``He has sustained complex fractures to the first and second cervical vertebrae that have resulted in an injury to the spinal cord,'' Dr. Jane said in a statement. ``The extent of the damage is not known.''

Relatives of the actor -- who played the title role in ''Superman'' in 1978 and in three sequels -- had gathered at the hospital, including his wife Dana Morosini and former girlfriend Gae Exton, with whom Reeve has two children. They thanked the doctors, friends and fans for their support.

``As the medical statement indicates, we do not know what lies ahead. It means everything to Christopher and his family to have all of your thoughts and prayers,'' a statement read.

Reeve's publicist Lisa Kasteler was not available for comment.

A graduate of Cornell University, Reeve also studied at Juilliard and made his Broadway debut in ``A Matter of Gravity'' and later starred in ``Fifth of July.''

In 1993, he was seen in the film ``The Remains of the Day.'' Earlier movies include ``Gray Lady Down,'' ``Somewhere in Time,'' ``The Bostonians'' and ``Deathtrap.'' His most recent film was ``Village of the Damned.''

L&C POLL RESULTS (SO FAR):
The other day we asked which L&C character you'd most like to see come back. Here are the results so far; you have until FRIDAY, JUNE 2, 1995 to send in who you think should return:
Sarah (from T:JO): 12 Rolph (from Top Copy): 2
Jack: 9 Dan Scardino: 1

Lucy Lane: 4 Prankster: 1
Michael Landes: 4 Superman's lawyer (from WWW): 1
Lois's Mom, Ellen Lane: 3 Tempus: 1
Lex Luthor: 2

As you can tell, it's a close race. Sarah (the girl from "Target: Jimmy Olsen") is in the lead, with Jack not far behind. You still have two more days to vote! =^)

A very interesting comment came from Debby Stark, in regards to our L&C poll. Here's what she said:
"As I am big on character building and ensemble casts off which TH and DC can work and prove their abilities to act (and also other cast members take some of the pressure off them), I'd bring back Jack, Cat, Lucy and Sarah pronto. These characters can continue with the show (unlike villains) and give the writers more to work with. I don't think we need a villain a week, but I would like to see them doing more actual work on more common news stories and having time to build personal relationships and for CK to have a bit of that regular life he craves. Wouldn't you love to see 'a day in the life of...' CK and LL every so often? I would!"
I couldn't agree with her more.

DOES DEAN CAIN HAVE A SISTER?
The article is from "US" magazine, and brought to our attention by Clark XX and ZBESTCO. Here's what it said....
"By then (his birth) his parent's had split, and his mother, Sharon Thomas, soon moved him and his older brother, Roger, to Los Angeles, where she met director Christopher Cain. They were married when Dean was four (he also has a younger sister, Krisinda, from this union). Though he has seen two photos of the man (his half Japenese biological father), the two have never talked or met. For now that's the way he wants it. "He's not something I think about, ever," Dean says. "I feel like I am disrespecting Chris Cain by talking about this other guy. He could have been dead before I was even born, and I wouldn't know the difference. I look at him like a sperm donor: Thanks for the genes buddy."

TODAY'S TRIVIA
Here is the trivia question for today.....

The script for the L&C episode "Joey the Bug," which ended up scrapped, featured Clark getting a bite by a radioactive bug. What comic-character origin does this sound like?

The answer to yesterday's question as to what super-hero Intergang member Robert Culp starred in a series with from 1981-1983 was Ralph Hinkley, the "The Greatest American Hero." XFMULDER1, ARTEMIS, AD VANCIAN, KB4UMASS, SOUNDSQUAW, NCC17LU, CHAKESPEAR, KAREN 7, MHEBERT974, SETAUKET JOHN, JLEREBOURS, UNICORN772, GORDNBARB, and NORDBURGH all got this one right. Culp starred in the series as FBI agent Bill Maxwell. It would've been kind of interesting if Culp's character went up to CK and said "Time to put on the [blue and] red jammies." (only people who remember the show would understand what I just said.)

Wrong answers came from CLARK XX, who guessed "Wonder Woman," AZRIEL CAT, who guessed "Batman," and LOCILAKE, who guessed "The Six Million Dollar Man."
