Sam Witwer is no stranger to playing a tough guy the sci-fi genre. Previous to getting the Smallville role he portrayed Darth Vader's apprentice! Now, he is playing a character who may or may not turn out to be something much deadlier than Clark would ever know. Witwer was born in Glenview, Illinois. He discovered his love for acting while in high school, participating in the drama and theater classes. He was also the lead singer of a high school band. Witwer attended the Julliard School of Drama before heading out to Los Angeles.
Witwer made his big screen debut in “The Mist,” as Private Jessup. He is best known for his roles as Crashdown on the television series “Battlestar Galactica,” and as Neil Perry on “Dexter." And if you've played Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, chances are you're quite familiar with him... Rather than continue with Smallville by playing Zod, Sam Witwer left the show after just one season.
