Video: Dean Cain Talks About Supergirl!

Comics Continuum (that website still exists?) caught up with Dean Cain to talk about his upcoming role on Supergirl as Kara’s foster/adoptive father, Fred Danvers, and what he thinks of returning to the Superman world.

“If you didn’t freeze frame the trailer, you wouldn’t have seen me, because it was very, very quick!” he joked.“I think the show is going to do fantastically,” he enthused. “I think Melissa Benoist is perfectly cast. She has a great humility about her, and she has that Super-thing where you’re, like, rooting for her — that’s an intangible thing, and she has it, and I think it’s going to do very, very well.”

He hopes to appear again on the show — that’s up to the writers and producers — it’s just a matter of where the show happens to go. Cain’s first priority is VH1’s Hit the Floor, though he’d be happy to appear on as many episodes of Supergirl as he can fit in.

Dean also mentioned that he’s voicing Jonathan Kent in an animated special named DC Girls, which is news to us.
