Supergirl Meets Archie & Jughead

There was a little bit of a comic book crossover recently in Vancouver…. and this one didn’t involve The Flash jumping between worlds.

What actually transpired is that Greg Berlanti’s new Riverdale TV series – a modern take on Archie Comics that’s a bit “Twin Peaks meets Archie” – is now filming, with the series premiering in early 2017 on The CW. It is suspected that Riverdale might take the Tuesday 9PM slot, at least as far as an article about advertising sales may have implied last month.

In any event, the @ArchieComics Twitter feed posted a photo of Supergirl herself, Melissa Benoist, meeting the new Archie and Jughead, K.J. Apa and Cole Sprouse. While we are unlikely to get a version of this on TV, as they are from different comic book universes, it’s fun to see three icons assembled, isn’t it?
