Supergirl Gets A Buffy Veteran For Cameron Chase

Cameron Chase is coming to Supergirl — and she’ll be played by a Buffy the Vampire Slayer veteran!

The Mary Sue‘s Teresa Jusino (also a host on the Supergirl Radio podcast with our longtime Super-friend Rebecca Johnson) has broken news today that Emma Caulfield (Buffy’s Anya), who Andrew Kreisberg has long been on the record for trying to get on one of his shows, will be playing the DC Comics character Cameron Chase on an upcoming episode Supergirl.

It makes sense to see her on Supergirl, since her comic book was where the DEO first really became heavily established.

Here’s how Warner Bros. Television describes this take on the character:

After her father’s violent murder, Cameron Chase decided to dedicate her life to law enforcement. Now a stern, no holds barred FBI agent, Chase’s weapons of choice are manipulation and manpower. With little sympathy, and plenty of suspicions, she pursues her targets with ruthless determination.

Interesting trivia: For a very brief moment, it was considered to reveal Smallville’s Tess Mercer as Cameron Chase. For some reason, this never came to be, and instead, the producers revealed her as the sister of Lex Luthor in Smallville’s final season.
