The first episode of Smallville hits the air on October 16, and we’ve got some preview trailers for you!

Wait… didn’t that already happen?

Yes, it did. Smallville premiered October 16, 2001, and while it’s firmly in our past, it’s fun to see where the show started, with some very moody scenery, great direction by David Nutter, and some well-written lines from creators Alfred Gough & Miles Millar. Also some fun actors we’d get to know and love, including Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack, John Schneider, Annette O’Toole, John Glover, Sam Jones III, Eric Johnson, and more. We doubt anyone knew there would be 217 episodes to follow this one, but aren’t we glad that there were?

We’ve had a lot of great DC TV since, but Smallville is where it all began… (and the town went schizo).
