No Crisis For Smallville’s “Bart Allen”

Tom Welling and Erica Durance are showing up. A few Supermen are showing up. Even Burt Ward and the voice of Animated Batman will be in this year’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, which begins in December on The CW.

John Wesley Shipp will presumably be donning his classic Flash suit yet again for the crossover, but there’s a former Flash who won’t be part of the proceedings: Kyle Gallner, who played “Bart Allen” a.k.a. Impulse on the show.

“I have been getting asked a lot about if I will show up as Bart Allen in Crisis on Infinite Earths,” Gallner tweeted over the weekend. “The answer is no. I was never approached or asked to reprise my role as Bart. So I will not be throwing on my red and yellows for this one.”

Kyle made his first appearance on Smallville in Season 4’s “Run” and later returned for episodes like “Justice.” It was recently said that the Smallville Season 11 comics are canon, so it’s possible he was not approached because Bart is dead in the continuity, but this is unfortunate. Kyle Gallner is a lot older now than he was when he played Bart, and it would be very interesting to see how Bart grew up… and how he reacts to the other Flashes in the Multiverse.

You can see Gallner’s Tweet below.
