Is Tom Welling Open To Making A Flash Appearance?

An interesting news story came today courtesy of Nuke The Fridge, where the site’s Luis Lecca spoke to Tom Welling at length at a FOX Fall party that was held last night.

Apparently, after an hour of discussion about Smallville, The Flash, and multiverses at the party, it came down to Welling, who is about to star in FOX’s Lucifer, saying that he has an idea for how an appearance on The CW’s top show could happen.

“I am willing to go on The Flash and I have a few ideas on how it can happen if the network asks me. In fact, I think I can make it happen,” the site reports Tom as saying.

Welling has previously said that he turned down the notion of appearing on Supergirl because his Clark Kent wouldn’t fit in that world. But would Welling be willing to show up on The Flash as his own Clark, if multiverses are a thing? Or is Tom suggesting appearing as a different character? Would there even be time, what with Tom appearing on 15 episodes of Lucifer this year?

A lot of possibilities spring from this quote. Though, a note to the studio: if Tom has an idea for how he could appear on The Flash, it might be fun to see what he has to say. Maybe all this holding on to Smallville that the fans have been doing will produce something worthwhile.

“Tom Welling on The Flash” rumors have been around since The Flash’s first season, when they were fabricated for traffic and attributed to a press event that didn’t exist; the difference this time is that the Nuke The Fridge site is quite legitimate.

Tom Welling’s Lucifer debut airs October 2 and you can find pictures here.
