Superman & Lois has found their Lana Lang.
Entourage and The Passage star Emmanuelle Chriqui, who also got some geek cred for voicing Cheetara in the excellent but short-lived Thundercats reboot a few years ago, has landed the role of Lana Lang-Cushing in the upcoming CW series which also stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Jordan Elsass, Alexander Garfin, and Dylan Walsh. Here’s how Deadline described her in the post where her casting was announced:
Chriqui will play Lana Lang-Cushing, the loan officer at Smallville Bank who stayed in Smallville when others left for something bigger and brighter. Lana re-establishes her friendship with her old friend, Clark Kent, during one of the most difficult periods in her life.
What Deadline doesn’t specifically mention is some darkness from her husband, Kyle, and that Lana has two daughters.
Lana Lang was famously played by Kristin Kreuk on Smallville, Stacy Haiduk in Superboy, and Annette O’Toole in Superman III.
Superman & Lois comes from super-producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter with Todd Helbing executive producing. It’s on track for the 2020-2021 TV season whenever things get back to production again. You can read more about the show here.
