While the stars of Smallville have been doing the rounds at conventions for several years, the show has never had a dedicated convention like the ones that fans of, say, Supernatural get to enjoy. Until now.
Creation Entertainment has announced their first-ever “Salute to Smallville” convention at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel in Parsippany, New Jersey. It will be held October 5 and 6 of this year and most of the show’s important players are scheduled to be there. This roster of guests includes the following actors from the show so far:
Tom Welling (Clark Kent)
Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor)
Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang)
Erica Durance (Lois Lane)
Laura Vandervoort (Kara)
John Glover (Lionel Luthor)
and Aaron Ashmore (Jimmy Olsen)
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase photos or autographs with the actors with the prices being listed on the Creation website. There will also be trivia, a Smallville cosplay contest, and for an additional cost, Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum are bringing their Smallville Nights to the event. If you have not attended Smallville Nights before, it’s a fantastic time full of stories and Smallville-inspired fun, hosted by “Clark” and “Lex” themselves.

They need to add more side events focusing on the other cast members besides Tom & Michael. I, for one, would be far more interested in a Lois and Clark themed Smallville Nights rather than Lex and Clark. They also need to sweeten the experience by either having their own dunk tank and putting Tom in it or having him wear a red jacket and blue t-shirt or a suit and tie with glasses for the professional photo ops. How about a karaoke themed party hosted by the ladies of Smallville? Come on people get creative, it needs to be better than the other conventions we've already gone to.
