Could the “Supermen of America” Tee Up The CW’s Justice U?

Last week, it was announced that Superman & Lois writer/producer Michael Narducci is one of the creative forces behind Justice U, a new series that could star Arrow’s David Ramsey (also the director of Tuesday’s new Superman & Lois!) working with five young metahunans. The show is in development for a possible spot on The CW’s schedule.

While there is not a confirmed connection, it is interesting to note that a metahuman school has been teased on Superman & Lois, and that storyline has ties to the “Supermen of America” superpowered characters wearing jackets first seen in the Superman & Lois season premiere.

Last week, we asked S&L Executive Producer Todd Helbing about the characters (and their awesome jackets!) Here’s what he had to say:

“We really fell in love with this idea really early with Anderson, about ‘if you are unable to control Superman, what do you do?’ You create your own team,” Helbing recalled.

“We set up the school that Lane and the DOD had in Season 1, and this is sort of like the next step of it. We wanted to bring Tag Harris back. So, you start to see this assembly of Anderson’s own team,” he teased.

We will see more of this team of characters in the coming weeks. And as for a connection to Justice U — we’ll have to stay tuned.
