Smallville Returns To The WB!
Green Arrow, New Whedon Series Also On Fall Line-Up

With Season Seven, Smallville will be changing networks yet again.

The Warner Brothers studio as well as CBS, co-owners of the CW, have parted ways. The CW will remain the same but all Warner productions will be on a new station - a revived WB.

The New WB will be setting up shop on stations formerly housed by MyNetworkTV. Smallville will remain on Thursdays as part of the New WB's "Superheroes Night" which teams the series with a new Green Arrow spin-off starring Justin Hartley.

Because the network is new, programming will only be seen on three nights: Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Should the New WB be a success, expect them to expand.

A key new part of The New WB's schedule is a new series, Fray, created by Joss Whedon and based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name. Fray takes place in the future of Buffy the Vampire Slayer lore.

Here's a preliminary look at the network line-up, as leaked to Hollywood Variety and printed in tonight's editions. Absent from both line-ups, sadly, is Veronica Mars, which is shooting a special series finale scheduled to air on The CW May 22.

Sunday:
7PM Reba (2 episodes)
8PM Two new sitcoms
9PM Supernatural

Wednesday:
8PM The Dukes of Hazzard: The Next Generation
8PM Fray (created by Joss Whedon)

Thursday:
8PM Smallville
9PM Green Arrow

New Episode Tonight!
The CW thought they pulled a fast one on us... by scheduling a new episode for a Sunday night - tonight, April 1st!

The title of this previously-unrevealed episode is "Lantern," and it features the long-awaited arrival of the Green Lantern to Smallville!

Rumor has it that this Lantern (who is played by Jack & Bobby's Matt Long) will play a recurring role in next year's new Green Arrow series.

After you see the episode, talk about it on the KryptonSite Forum - one of the web's first and largest online forums for the show! The link to specific "Lantern" discussion can be found here.

Here are some other extras associated with the episode. Our apologies again for not getting the word out sooner!

Tom Welling Signs Through Season 9
With the new network announcement, it has been revealed that Tom Welling has extended his contract to appear for three more years on Smallville, with the contract ending with the series' conclusion in 2010.

The contract extension comes as a surprise to many who expected the show to end with a seven-year arc.

Of the remaining cast members, only Erica Durance has extended her contract beyond the initial seven seasons.

One of the new characters we may see joining the show before then will be Lori Lemaris. Casting notices have gone out for a red haired "Ariel type" to play the role. Lori may be the first of many new characters to come on to replace Lex, Lana, Chloe, and the others before their contracts are up at the end of Year 7.

More Stunt Casting! Stacy Haiduk as Lara in Season Finale
Hot on the heels on the latest rumor that Clark's Kryptonian mother, Lara, would be in this season's finale of Smallville... comes word that another actress from a former DC Comics super-hero show would be on her way.

Stacy Haiduk, who played Lana Lang in the 1980's Adventures of Superboy syndicated series, has been cast as the Kryptonian Lara.

Haiduk's guest shot isn't the only big guest appearance for the finale. Word has it that Bart Allen and Perry White may be coming through as well, though that information has not yet been confirmed by the studio. Last week, Emmanuelle Vaguier revealed in an interview that she, too, is in the finale... and if Helen is alive... does that mean that Lana and Lex were never legally married? Guess we'll find out....
