Starman Pilot Script Spoilers
Subject to change - Last updated 3/18/03

First off, two new details:

As of this writing, the Shade is currently not set to appear in the TV series version of Starman. We're not too sure what we think of this. Starman without The Shade sounds like The X-Files without Cigarette Man. Hopefully this will be rectified before a final draft is completed.

Another change made, that's not nearly as important and could lend itself well to the series: Instead of being 35 year old Jack Knight running a shop full of "old stuff," the 25 year old Jack will be running something a bit more affordable and possibly more "hip": A used record store. This will lend itself well to the show's soundtrack. Hopefully David Bowie's "Starman" will be one of the things heard.

Also, on March 10, KnightsPast talked to Starman co-creator Tony Harris, who has read the script and had this to say about it:

"I felt like they really nailed the Knight family dynamic, which is absolutely key to this show working. I feel like the writer really got it right."

He also revealed the lineup of characters who are used and mentioned in the Starman pilot script, which is currently in the hands of ABC. The characters set to appear in the pilot are:

Jack Knight - you didn't really think they'd do a series without this guy, did you?
Ted Knight
- Former Starman who started it all, and father to Jack.
David Knight
- Ted's son, Jack's brother. You know, that guy who is doomed.
Hope O'Dare
- The female O'Dare of her generation. Part of a family that's very important to the history of Opal City.
The Mist and family -
The family of The Mist - father and siblings - will come into the show in some form or fashion.

Keep in mind that changes may be forthcoming, and what Tony read is by no means not the final script.

Talk about this news on the Jolly Roger Studio message board! Tony also tells us that the popular Starman Compendium by Alex Tam will soon be updated and moving to the Jolly Roger Studio website. And of course keep watching Knights Past for more!
