Al Gough In Smallville Magazine #13
Issue #13 of the Official Smallville Magazine is now hitting newsstands and comic book stores. It offers the latest in Smallville news, an exclusive news feature, and interviews with Michael Rosenbaum (Lex) and Adrianne Palicki (Kara from "Covenant"), among others.

Also included is an "Executive Decisions News Extra" where Ian Spelling interviews Executive Producer Al Gough. Here are some highlights from that interview:

On "Vengeance":
"Vengeance was interesting. Clark had his first encounter with somebody who uses a disguise to cover their crime-fighting. That was kind of a wink at Clark's future, and it was also the first episode where he and Martha are putting the pieces together again after Jonathan's death. Lionel Luthor has always been in love with Martha and now that Jonathan is out of the picture, you saw him starting to make his move. So I thought it was a very strong, emotionally satisfying episode."

On pitching a Lois Lane spin-off series:
"There was a big consideration and ultimately that came down to a corporate decision. Before we pitched Smallville we pitched them a Lois Lane show. So they came back this season and said, 'Now that we actually have Lois can we spin her off?' We came up with an apporach, but ultimately when it went up the corporate ladder it wasn't something they were willing to sign off on, so that sort of set us onto Aquaman."

All this and more are in The Official Smallville Magazine #13!
