KRYPTONSITE
MESSAGE BOARD RULES!!!
1.
The proper way to post: Be civil. Post as if you are talking
to someone you just met face to face. If you have issues with a poster
that are not in topic in the thread, create a new thread in which
to discuss the issue (including one in off-topic if necessary), or
e-mail the poster.
No flames. Flames are insults, either to specific people or a group.
Don't do it. Be respectful to your fellow posters. That means no profanities,
no derogatory comments and nothing that you wouldn't say in front
of your grandmother.
Also, flames can be directed to a single person, or to a group of
people. Either type will not be tolerated.
2. Don't post requests or notes to moderators, administrators
or other posters to the forum. E-mail them instead. Click on their
names; their profiles will show up and so will an option to send a
private message or e-mail. Hint: It would be nice if your private
messages or e-mail address was also turned on so we can respond.
3. Search around to see if your question has been answered,
or if a topic you want to discuss is already being talked about in
an existing thread. We are trying not to have different threads talking
about the same thing. If not, ask a moderator.
4. Post to the appropriate forum.
(a) If it is within a week of an episode's (U.S.) airing, please talk
about it in the appropriate EPISODE forum.
(b) If it's a spoiler (info for an upcoming episode) respect other
posters who wish to remain spoiler-free and post it to the SPOILERS
forum.
(c) If it's related to COMICS or is completely OFF-TOPIC, please post
in those respective forums.
(d) Fanfic and story ideas should be exclusively be posted in the
FANFICTION Forum.
5. Label threads appropriately. If you are posting about one
of Clark's new powers, don't name it "Papa got a brand new bag"
or something.
6. Try to stay on topic. If the thread is about the characters'
ages, don't start talking about your shopping trip yesterday and "hey,
what's up" to another poster. It's OK to go slightly off-topic,
but try to stay within the basic spirit of the thread. Any off-topic
posts will be deleted.
7. Anyone not following these rules will be warned. Break a
rule a second time and be banned from the forums. That means you can't
post at KryptonSite anymore. And we want everyone to have fun, so
be nice and follow the rules!
Questions and concerns should be directed to the administrators KryptonSite
(planetkrypton@aol.com) or SullivanLane (sullylane@yahoo.com) in an
e-mail. Please specify your username when writing to us.

KryptonSite Forums Basic Information and Frequently Asked Questions
Administrators: KryptonSite (Craig) and SullivanLane (Kat).
Board Tech is MattKS (Matt).
FORUM DESCRIPTIONS
General - General discussion of episodes, questions, informal
polls, speculation, etc. Please check out the first couple of pages
of threads to see if your question has already been answered in an
existing thread. Also, we suggest titling your thread so that people
reading the board may easily recognize its content. For example, if
your post is about Lex Luthor's mother, it would not make sense to
name it "Nsync Rules."
Characters and Actors - Pretty self-explanatory. If the post
is about a character, like say Martha Kent, it would go in the Martha
Kent thread. If it's about the actress Annette O'Toole, it would go
under the Supporting Cast thread.
Spoiler Discussion
- Future episodes are discussed here. This includes trailers and rumors.
All spoilers posted to the General Forum will be moved here. But it
would be nice if you posted it here in the first place.
Episode Discussion
- The week of a new episode, keep your reviews of the episode here
so people aren't spoiled if they haven't seen it yet in their part
of the world.
The Stars - Discussion of Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum,
Kristin Kreuk et al. (including guest stars) can be discussed here.
This includes magazine interviews and other films, TV shows or other
projects that the stars are participating in.
Fanfiction and Fan Art - A place to post your Smallville
fanfiction, ideas and challenges. Feel free to read the fics and comment
(nicely). Please read the rules before posting your fanfic or artwork.
Superman In Other Media - Ask questions about and discuss
comics, Lois & Clark, the early 1990s Superboy series, the Christopher
Reeve movies, the black-and-white Superman serials, and more. This
is the perfect place also to discuss Superman's history and many incarnations.
If you have a question about Superman legend and lore, this would
be the place to ask because we have plenty of regulars (daniducci,
Yannick, Pilgrim731, and others) who are well-versed in the comics
and always seem to be happy to answer questions and make comic book
recommendations.
Off-Topic Forum - Discuss anything that's on your mind, as
long as it's rated PG-13.
Introduce Yourself - Get to know the people who post to KryptonSite
and introduce yourself so we can get to know you, too. We are a friendly
bunch and love newcomers!
The Testing Forum - If you've added a picture underneath
your name or a new signature, test it out here. Instructions are also
available if you want to add a signature or graphics.
The Help Desk - Have your questions answered (hopefully!)
KryptonSite Forum Frequently Asked Questions
SHOW INFO
How old are they?
There is, unfortunately, a very long answer to this very simple question.
The simple truth is "They don't really say." As of the first
season, the Smallville press kit says that Clark, Lana, Pete and Chloe
are about 15. In the Pilot, Pete and Clark wanted to join the football
team because they pick a freshman as the Scarecrow (implying that
they are freshmen). Lana had a birthday in "Craving," so
she may be 16. (They never state her age in the episode, however.)
Whitney was a senior in Season 1, so he was 17 or 18. Lex is 21. The
WB commercials say that Clark is 16. Clark et al. also do a fair bit
of driving. You can get a farm license in Kansas at age 14.
By
season 2, it’s pretty much established that they are all sophomores.
Huh? I don't get it. Why did they change Lois Lane's name to Lana
Lang?
Lana Lang and Lois Lane (despite the identical initials) are two different
people in Clark's life. Lana is his high school love interest (but
in most versions of the comics they did not date!). Lois is the woman
he meets in Metropolis at the Daily Planet and is his true love. There
are also unsubstantiated theories and rumors circulating that Chloe
Sullivan (Allison Mack) is Lois Lane.
What's the password to LuthorCorp's Intranet?
It keeps changing. Check around the General Forum for any new threads
on them.
Why are there so many reruns?
A typical television season runs from September or October to May.
There are usually 22 episodes scheduled for this 30-something-week
span of time. Most new episodes will be aired during sweeps months:
September, February and May. This is routine for all network shows.
Reruns are typically shown in the periods before and after sweeps.
When will they play Five For Fighting's "Superman (It's Not
Easy)"? That song is perfect for this show!
They played it in the first season episode "Stray," which
originally aired April 16, 2002.
Why doesn't Clark fly?
Because the producers have repeatedly said, "No tights, no flights."
So if he does fly, it won't be until the end of the series, if not
the last episode. The opening scene in "Metamorphosis,"
by the way, was not flying. That was floating. He only dreamt that
he was flying.
Let's petition to get Bruce Wayne on the show! Come on! It would
be cool!
The producers have already expressed huge interest in Bruce Wayne
as a guest star. It's just a matter of licensing and wading through
red tape. All we can do is wait. The earliest they say this could
happen is in the third or fourth season.
CAST INFO
Additional cast information can be obtained by clicking the "Cast"
button at the top of the KryptonSite main page.
Is it true that Tom Welling (Clark Kent) is married?
Yes. The lucky woman's name is Jamie. They got married in July 2002.
Is that really Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) wearing a dress
in that movie?
Probably. He has dressed in drag in "Sweet November" and
"Sorority Boys."
What nationality/ethnicity is Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang)?
Kristin's nationality is Canadian. She is half-Chinese and half-Dutch.
Why was there a different Martha in some versions of the Pilot?
Cynthia Ettinger was originally tapped to play Martha Kent and did
so in the filming of the original Pilot episode. She was replaced
with Annette O'Toole (who played Lana Lang in the Superman III movie)
for the version of the Pilot that aired in October 2001.
Don't you think Jonathan Kent (John Schneider) looks a lot like
Bo Duke from "Dukes of Hazzard"?
Yes, probably because he was Bo Duke from "Dukes of Hazzard."
BOARD INFO
What's HoYay?
HoYay is short for "Homoeroticism, Yay!" It refers to homoerotic
subtext between two characters. HoNay is something that happens between
two characters that is meant to counteract or deny the HoYay.
What's Roll Call? Can I join in? What do I do?
Roll Call was introduced to the KryptonSite General Forum by Starflower.
It is a place to say hi and to catch up on your day and everyone else's.
We feel it makes us seem like more of a family. Anyone can drop a
note in roll call. In fact, we encourage it! The following day, Roll
Call threads get moved to the Introduce Yourself Forum.
Why does everyone hate Lana?
Everyone does not hate Lana (only a noisy minority does, hee hee).
There are various reasons for the "Lana-bashing": mostly
because she won't stop talking about her parents and for her actions
in "Shimmer" and "Hug."
Did you notice in [insert episode title here] when they talked
about [insert inside joke here]? They were alluding to Superman!
Yes, we know. The Smallville writers are not exactly subtle when they
reference the Superman legend.
Who is this Boobs McChesty?
That would be Victoria Hardwick as played by Kelly Brook (in the episodes
Rogue, Shimmer, Hug and Leech). We adopted that name for her from
the nice people at Television Without Pity, who coined it because
of Miss Brook's ... uh, physical assets. Most people at KryptonSite
did not seem to enjoy her acting on Smallville.
Hey, I have a question about something. And a complaint. And I
wanna tell someone in charge, but it's private. What do I do?
You can e-mail PlanetKrypton@aol.com
or SullyLane@hotmail.com.
We will do our best to accommodate you. You can also click on a moderator's
name and send us private messages. That works, too. Make sure your
private messages are turned on, too, or include your e-mail address
in the body of the message so we can reply.
