WELCOME!
A few things before we get to printing more memories of "Lois & Clark"....

First off, as you probably have seen by now, "L&C" was pre-empted yet again tonight, this time for an ABC Saturday Night at the Movies airing of the movie "Straight Talk." The only redeeming quality of all this, of course, was that the movie featured an appearance by an actress by the name of Teri Hatcher. "Lois & Clark" is supposed to return in the U.S. with "I've Got You Under My Skin," written by Tim Minear, on May 31st. Hopefully the remaining two "L&C" episodes will follow on the next two Saturdays.

Next, I have one request to those of you who are sending in "memories" from AOL... please, please, PLEASE don't use AOL 3.0 stuff in the mail, such as bolding, italics, etc. because it will all have to be taken out anyway for those people who do not have America Online or the latest version of it. I'm getting a lot of people sending mail with this stuff, and while it may seem cool to you and look good, it just doesn't work for everyone else. I'm sorry.

Another thing I have found very distressing... several people have taken it upon themselves since the announcement of the cancellation to personally write me and bash myself, the FoLCs, or the, in their words, "stupid" show. While I don't generally condone printing private e-mail one really stood out and should be addressed. The sender was "paulp@gil.com.au," and among other things that cannot be reprinted because of vulgarity he or she had this to say....

"When I read the news I couldn't stop laughing.... L&C sucks and so do all the Folcs out there I mean L&C sucks major now get a life and watch some desent TV....." This person then went on to tell me "I bet your proud to be president of the suckiest show on Tv...." (spelling errors not corrected)

Since the FoLCs are a very determined bunch, especially when it comes to defending their show, you're all welcome to send this person an e-mail and tell him or her what you think of what he/she had to say. After all, he/she didn't say in his e-mail that it could not be printed... I apologize if it was immature to post this person's mail, I just find this behavior very aggravating. This was by far one of the rudest e-mails I have gotten in the whole time I have been doing the Krypton Club. Come on, people, if you're going to be critical of the show (and there can possibly be several reasons to be), at least say *why* you think the way you do without making attacks at people. Sorry for having this introduction looking like a bunch of rules... I get that way when I'm frustrated. Enjoy the rest of the newsletter.

MORE MEMORIES OF "LOIS & CLARK"
Here are some more fan memories of the recently-cancelled "L&C"....

Skittle202: "Well, it is finally time to say goodbye to Lois & Clark... I knew it would come one day, but I was not expecting it so soon. I don't know what to say. Without L&C, I honestly don't know who I would be today. It has had such an impact on my life. I can't believe that Lois & Clark...a television show...changed my life. But, L&C is more than just a television show, it is a part of me now, and it always will be. I will never forget Lois & Clark. I will never forget the anger I felt through the 3rd season wedding/cloning/amnesia arc. I will never forget crying through BGDF, and I will certainly never forget waiting anxiously for the real wedding. Lois & Clark has given me memory after memory after memory. Nothing can ever change that. L&C will never be forgotten. This may be goodbye, but it is not a final farewell, and it never will be..."

Bethany: "Meaningless, meaningless, everything is meaningless! What are my Sunday and Saturday nights w/o Lois and Clark??? Without my weekly dose of qoutes and inside jokes that only I and my fellow FoLCs understand. WHY WHY WHY did ABC ditch the best thing to ever happen to my TV set? If you thought LCWS was bad after the 2nd season cliffhanger, just wait until there's nothing more to look forward to! At least then we knew it really would be continued!!!! And WHY on earth was Lois and Clark cancelled, and yet Home Improvement is still on!?!?!?!?! I hate ABC."

Nuvelle: "Hi this is Nuvelle, I am a member of the Krypton Club and when I read this
e-mail/newsletter I was so upset. I thought that there was going to be a 5th season. Why did they change the timings on Sunday? The show was going to well AND ABC moved it to Saturday a very bad day I might add because of Dr. Quinn. I mean I don't watch it but most of our fans do.

"I loved Lois and Clark very much. It had excitement, mystery and romance. Everything I love about a show. I am really going to miss it but I will watch it on TNT. By the way do you know what time they will be airing it on TNT? [September -- Craig] I love Dean Cain so much and I also love Terri Hatcher. Lois and Clark made such a cute couple. Did you know they were the sexiest couple on ABC? Any ways I am really going to miss L&C very much."

Vanna: "I remember when I saw "Lois & Clark" for the first time. It was the pilot episode and it was all I need to watch it till today. When Martha and Clark were choosing his *disguise* I knew that I would follow this show till its end... and I did. Sisnce that day I haven't lost one episode and since last year I was so crazy about it that I asked for someone to tape and mail it for me (I live in Brazil and we are late here) just to see before everyone I know.

"I almost got insane in the first year season finale; and in the end of "Season's Greedings" and "That Old Gang of Mine"; and when Ms. Drake and Scardino made their appearances; when Clark proposed to Lois; and she said no; and in the wedding arc; and in "Big Girls Don't Fly", I cried a lot in this one. Anyway, it was just perfect how they mixed adventure and romance (not in this order:^).

"But I got really insane in May 19th when I checked may mail and there was a Krypton Club Update. I couldn't even look at it, I had my hands in my eyes and slowly I opened my fingers. I really couldn't believe on what I read that day. The first thing I did was go in the USA Today page and see the article, I wasn't convinced yet but then I saw the news on ET and then all my hopes died.

"But we have to move on. I'll take the time to put all the episodes in order and watch them over and over again and I'll keep writing my fanfics. Of course I'm and all FoLCs around the world aren't too happy with the news but we can't forget how good it was watching it every week, wondering what would happen next, when Lois would tell Clark she loved him or when Clark would let she talk first so he wouldn't screw it up. That's what made me watch this show for four years and that is what will make me
watch it for as long as my tapes can take.

"It doesn't matter if ABC won't show it anymore or if WB won't be able to produce it we will alway have Bob and Carol and Lois and Clark and Perry and Jimmy and Jack and Martha and Jonathan and Lucy and Ellen and Sam and Cat and Lana and Tempus and Lex and Amy and Mxyzptlk and Bo and Linda and Miranda and Mayson and Dan and Dr. Friskin and The Churches and all the others ...in our hearts, our minds and our tapes."

Wendy Burton: "LOIS AND CLARK started showing at a critical time in my life... it
happened to be my freshman year of high school. After I fell in love with the program, it became incredibly important to me- I actually shed tears when I was forced to miss the season finale. I ate, breathed, and slept LOIS AND CLARK. I know to other people that sounds a little crazy, but most of you understand. What *made* the show for me was the theme of unrequited love- Clark's for Lois and Lois's for Superman. Episodes like "Pheremone..." and "Honeymoon..." where they dealt with their feelings so thoroughly were my favorites. I remember feeling my heart ache during the hostage episode, when Clark had to watch Lois with Lex. In general, LOIS AND CLARK nourished my teen angst. One very tiny part of me is glad that the show is ending now, at the same time I'm leaving high school. It's really closing up part of my life."

UCC888: "I can not believe that L&C is actually gone. maybe it is just a nightmare or even a mistake. I hope Lois and Clark will return still, even if I am just dreaming. Just maybe the producers might change their minds. Oh well, I guess all we can do is enjoy the last three hours of L&C. I know that I won't be missing any of them."

Norbert Schlechter: "Here in Germany the fourth season is coming in autumn this year so we have still some episodes before us. I'm very sorry about the quitting of Lois and Clark because it was my favorite show on TV. Nevertheless I hope you keep up to make this newsletter. Remember what happened to Star Trek: Cancelled many times by ignorant TV-Managers it is now the famous science fiction show on earth. Perhaps its time for a new Star Trek. I'm not glad about Nicolas Cage and Sandra Bullock having the parts of Lois and Clark in the new movie. Its like Clint Eastwood playing the part of Batman. Great actors but not for this role. There will be only one actor who could play Lois and that is Teri Hatcher and only one to play Superman: Dean Cain."

The Burton Family from Alaska: "The only show that my family watched on ABC was Lois and Clark. You might want to pass that message on to the powers that be."

BLAST FROM THE PAST: TWO YEARS AGO....
Back in the Krypton Club archives, we found this article in the May 24, 1995 issue of the Krypton Club Newsletter (issue #3)... in the end, this was revealed to be true... and "Lois & Clark" did indeed "kick butt."

"MURDER" MOVED?
Rumor has it that "Murder, She Wrote" has been moved to Thursdays and "Cybill" will
take the new Sunday at 8 slot on CBS. That would mean L&C is the only drama on
Sunday nights, and dramas have been growing in popularity... maybe L&C will "kick
butt" after all!

TONIGHT'S TRIVIA!
Here is "L&C" trivia question for tonight...

What "L&C" episode was the first episode to be written by the writing team of Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner?

The answer to #165's trivia: Lex's "personal assistant" in "Barbarians at the Planet" and "The House of Luthor" was "Ms. Cox," and she was played by model Beverly Johnson.

And an addition to the answer to #164's trivia... there was another Batman reference which we failed to mention, in "Ultra Woman," when Nell Newtrich stated "He has all the super powers of... Batman!"
