On this episode did anyone feel like they were watching the Fast and the Furious? LOL reminded me so much from that movie.
I felt bad for Pete at the end, where he realised he made a mistake and Clark was still really angry. I would be too but poor Pete. At least he's learnt his lesson.

the end of the episode made me feel sad. pete asking clark if he wants to shoot hoops and clark says "not today pete" and walks away and the music in the background always makes me kind of sad for some reason. anyway, i have always liked velocity among my season 3 favorites. and yes "samara" the episode definitely reminded me of fast and the furious, even though i have only scene it once. maybe smallville was trying to make a FATF ripoff? he he just kidding!

Did anyone else feel that Pete's actions at begining of episode came out of the Blue. He has been racing for two months and Chloe and Clark don't know?

This episode was a total "Hey! We haven't done anything with Pete in a while!" episode. I really didn't like it. Pete already should have know better than to do what he was doing. And he's never been played before or after as having a cavalier attitude towards his own safety or the safety of others. The setup made no sense, and the overall repercussions of what happened just disappeared into the ether. I suppose that could be a good thing, since I have a tendency to avoid this episode like the plague now.

^ While I don't necessarily avoid it like the plague, it is one of my least favorite episodes of Season 3. That and Talisman.

Still, it's better than Lana being a witch, or an exploding fast-aging baby, right?

I actually didn't mind the latter of those two. I can stomach Spell if I watch it with commentary on, because the actresses obviously had so much fun shooting the episode and doing the commentary. They're hillarious to listen to during it.

This episode is very underrated in my opinion and not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. I like the fact that it examines Clark and Pete's friendship. I also really liked how it takes a look at how knowing the secret weighs on Pete. While the street racing angle was not the greatest, this episode definately had some good things in it, and I enjoy it.

Parker,

I think that there are a few other people on the whole site besides me, you, and Mel (Summers) that would agree. I am glad that we are on the same page with this one though..

I felt the same. I got a completely different view of the dynamics of their friendship, not only that Clark's secret weighs on Pete, but that it makes him feel inferior and jealous -- a perfectly natural reaction. There was also an interesting reveal on Clark and Lex's friendship, when Lex basically told Clark "not my problem." He didn't even try to advise him.

Not a bad episode at all.

Jonathan has his stupidest quote ever in this episode when he tells Clark that 'It would take much more than a heart attack to bring your old man down' I was like *dude what will it take then? A tractor running over you? a tractor falling on you? a direct hit from a meteor? what is it going to take Bo?*

Dante was quite poorly written. What a total waste of guest star Ryan Merriman, and I like Ryan, especially as he is from the next town (Choctaw) East of here. Clark and Pete can't do anything about Dante because he is such a bad-ass? Well, they didn't really show that did they? The plot seemed contrived to me. And yet another case where Clark doesn't notice the Kryptonite until it's too late.

Hell yeah.

Rogue is the most underrated episode of the show in my opinion. It is on my top 5 list in terms of all time favorite episodes.

What cracks me up about this thread is that Velocity is considered by many to be one of the weakest episodes of the show, but yet the thread has more response than any other episode in the S3 forum..

Here's an article from The Daily Oklahoman on local actor Ryan Merriman, who played Dante in this episode, and what he's up to these days.

This episode could've been done better. All it did was ripoff The Fast and the Furious. They even had the guy making phony license plates.

I agree. I think it a good epsiode cuz i like pete being involed and also it gives a break from the darkness of this season (i'm not a huge fan of this season cuz it was a little too dark for me)

Not so stupid, but ironic now that he did die of a heart attack.
