I thought 13 episodes was bad now we're down to 12. Any reason given for this decision?

wow cant beleive ABC is cuting episodes I know there was a big drop off from the premeir but I thought the ratings for the last few episodes still placed it in the top 3 or 4 shows for the network

I don't think it's a big deal. 12 eps should get them through until Jul. Don't the other shows usually go on hiatus late May, early June? It wouldn't of surprised me if they only ordered 8 more episodes because of the summer break and fewer viewers in the Summer.

I just hope ABC really gives this show a chance!!! I don't think it was fair for Flashforward to have 24 and V only get 12! I'd like for V to continue after the first season.

My thoughts exactly. What's swo special about FF that they get a lot more episodes then V?!

Can the episode count be raised if V continues to get great ratings when they return in a few months?

Constantine, do you come into these threads with any intention but to mock? That could be considered flame baiting you know.

That's actually very good news. Specifically Natalie Chaidez - I knew her from Heroes and really liked her a lot.

Largely, Amusement. Admittedly, There were aspects of V that I came close to enjoying, but you have to admit the next few episodes need to be phenomenal.

Is she one of the ones that left when Fuller did?

This just sucks 1st ABC show us just 4 measly episodes, then tells us to wait several months to watch a new episode, then tells us they changed it from 8pm to 10pm and now this telling us that they are cutting the season by one episode. ABC what kind of game are you playing with us. In a previous thread it said ABC wants V to fail well with this news its the final nail in the V coffin. I now sit back and wait for another cheap trick ABC pulls from their @#$ and would not surprise me any bit.

Okay 1 episode is not a big deal, so who cares about that. What they need are really good episodes not 24 boring ones like flashforward got. I like the premise of V, and I think they have a great cast in general. Morena and Elizabeth are pretty much rocking V at this point, they are the wings of the plane so to speak. What I really want to see are great character arcs, so someone from season 1 Heroes coming in gives me hope. Heroes was a great show season 1 with really interesting characters. If TPTB are not cancelling V, and giving it new showrunners, and producers, then at least they are giving it a chance, so I will too.

This could be a budgeting issue. Perhaps the same amount of funding for 13 is now being used on 12 making it a more costly 12. That might be a good thing. Any number of reasons could be speculated. I don't know either way.

You could be right - it looks like a very expensive show to create. I have my fingers crossed that it will last. I really enjoyed the 4 episodes -- the sci-fi / action genre is not that large.

I don't care if they only make 12 episodes per season so long as they are
well done. 10 seasons of awesome episodes equals 120 awesome episodes.
I can live with this.

Hey. At least ABC aren't pulling a fox and pulling out the rug from under you. The fundamental problem with V is pacing, and it's something they need to rectify; the originals had a drama aspect, but the strained psychological tension is wearing thin - honestly, if I wanted that, I'd still be watching the utter disappointment that is flash forward.

Alan Tudyk is a prime example - they completely underused him! He's a fantastic actor, and they basically spent four episodes making him Erica's *****! Then we get to Ryan, who's basically so whipped that he stays at the back most of the time. This is a guy who's 6 foot odd and built like a brickhouse, and he's letting Liz Mitchell and Jack do the work! Come on, he's basically a token black guy at the moment - so much so, I'm expecting him to come out with something racial stereotypical like a KFC or Cornbread reference at any moment.

The thing is, they have no excuse for only having four episodes to achieve something. I'f you want to see something that really was truly awesome and evenly paced this year, grab hold of a copy of the prisoner. You won't regret it, I promise. Probably not. If you're over say, 21 anyway.

The episode cut is probably due to either budget or the ever changing show runners. I think FF will get the chance to tell their story and then be canned and hopefully V will get a season 2.

Hmm...Now there's a show that needed to be put out of its misery after the first season. How has Season 4 left you feeling Craig?

They need to cut that out. Nothing causes edgy viewers like a constantly changing roster. *cough* Looking at you, heroes.

Don't get me started on FOX in the way they got rid of TTSCC a tad too prematurely and the fans were ticked off about that one
