Favorite Incarnation of V?

I'm curious for those out there, especially after just reading another thread comparing "the initial four hours" - what is your favorite incarnation of V so far?

Feel free to share why you think the way you do, in this thread

Abc's V of course! I have seen a little bit of the older ones(I have no clue witch one it was). But the main reason I love this one so much is, its going to be biased, but Morena Baccarin alone is one of my favorite actors. I just think she is phenomenal at any role she plays!

I voted for the original mini series in that it was far more aggressive compared to the new ABC V which come across too passive. I think it was the red uniforms made the old V in some way superior and Diana's methods more compelling in the way she did her business. Don't get me wrong but Anna seems doll like with a creepy look and I hope as the series goes further we will see more of her Evil side like Diana was.

I still think Kenneth Johnson's original V mini-series was superior to any other
incarnation or follow-up of the show. Mike Donovan rules! Ha, Ha... I haven't
read V: The Second Generation, but one day maybe I'll get to it? V: The Final
Battle was good in the first movie with the Los Angeles Medical Center. The
second and third movies fell a bit flat for me. Everybody's whose read my
other posts know what I think of V: The 1985 series. ABC
version is good, but lacking in action and sci-fi stuff. I really do like Anna.
She makes it all worth watching.

Really that's a hard question.

I love what Kenneth did in the first one, and aside for the glowing girl at the end I really like the Final Battle almost as much as the miniseries.

I've only watched the series once, (aside from the few episodes I caught when they first aired) and despite being flawed I love watching the cast in action.

The new Novel was cool, but left me wondering about to much that happened in between the miniseries and the book and ultimately I felt let down.

And I have to agree, ABC's V is lacking action and sci-fi, and 4 episodes in we barely know anything about the V's... But I can't get enough of it and cant wait to see what twists and turns are comming next. Not to mention the cast is great. I had low expectations going in and am actually quite pleased with what they are doing (aside from the 4 month break that is).

And while I like Anna (even though she hasn't really done much), there's just something thrilling about seeing Jane Badler twirl her moustache as she tried to take down Donavan and Tyler.

I voted Final Battle witch is really tied with the original for me but Ham Tyler pushes FB over the top for me

I do have one problem with this poll however as it makes it look like new V is winning However the poll splits old V fans votes into 3 (Original FB and Series) if you add them togather the shows are running pretty even.

I voted for the Original Miniseries, it was done well, the writing was good, the characters were compelling and explored thoroughly. You saw multiple sides to the characters that were there, you saw conflict, it was also a great Nazi allegory and that worked well. The new incarnation is good, I enjoy it, but only 4 episodes in, the second one sucked, ABC doesnt know if they want sci-fi yet this is a sci-fi must. I of course love the new special effects, I mean were talking 21st century. The new story needs more depth and more characters, the original holds up today so well because it was essentially good story telling, the new version is having some script issues I hope they resolve.

To me this is like comparing the origional Star Wars to the Phantom Menance or the origional Superman to the newer version....

I think anyone that remembered the origional mini serie (like i did) will vote for it. It brings back so many amazing memories & still holds up when watching it today. The fantastic storyline, the special effects, the face peeling & rodant eating,...
Don't get me wrong, i'm thoroughly enjoying this "V" but it could never make me feel the way i did as a 12yr kid the first time i watched it.

Here's hoping that there is many youngsters that are feeling the same feelings as many of us did way back then when watching the origional..... God i feel old saying that ;o)

I really LUV all of it!!!

I was very young at the time of the first V and The Final Battle and the weekly series. I really didn't understand it then. I was too enamored with the spaceships, the visitors, their cool uniforms, lasers, Diana, all the cool stuff. It wasn't until years later that I got to see it again that I understood all the symbolism and heart of the show.

I thought the first incarnatoin of V was wonderful. I think to this day it holds up well as does the Final Battle which I do kind of like more. There was just more action and moved a little faster. I enjoyed the weekly series although it was a shame they used so much stock footage but it has been reported that at that time it was the most expensive show on tv!

With the new V, I LUV it too! It's def different but it is using some aspects from the original such as the fifth column, the visitors ensigna, bliss similar to the conversion chamber. Obviously the special effects ,thanks to technology, as far more superior. However, Im still hoping that the visitors do use lasers. There just too cool!!

And someone has got to eat some rodents or something!!!
