Honestly, I have absolutly no idea what they know about Sam "and all the children like him." I was browsing through some other Supernatural boards, and there's some pretty far-fetched theories ... The Demon is actually Sam's father; Sam's actually an angel. One of the better ones that I saw was that the demon has been changing the kids so that they can possess them easier, and have their powers.
I'm at a loss ... Too much could be happening, and we really have zero information. ... anyone have any thoughts?Comment

My first thought was that Sam was actually the son of the demon, just by the way the demon was talking, but it wouldn't make sense in the story as a whole.
I haven't really thought much about it though.
Come on, Jen, what are your thoughts? hahaComment

(Repost from general thread)
[Speculation on why the demon is so hot after Sam and the other "children like him"];
When a demon possesses a normal person, that person then becomes basically immortal. They're as strong as Clark Kent with a suntan, can't kill it (without the Colt), can't hurt it (permanently), it can throw people around without touching them - it basically can do whatever it pleases.
Now imagine what it could do with a person's "meat suit" when that person has special powers/abilities themself?
My spec is that the demon thinks that if he could possess Sam or kids like him, there'd be pretty much absolutely no stopping them in that form.
Just my early thoughts on that.Comment

Ok, as I told yellowqueen I have a theory so here it is:
Sam is actually Clark Kent in disguise.
No, I'm Kidding!
Ok, so for real:
Sam and "all the children like him" have these amazing psychic powers, right? Powers that seem to be growing and becoming more powerful over time?
Well, what if The Demon believes that all the children with said powers can be possessed and their powers augmented by the Demon's powers, creating an unstoppable army that can both walk 'under the living sun' (as it were) and pass for human if need be?
It would be like a Demon possessing (ok, you knew this was coming, right?) Superman. You'd have Kal's powers but still your own Demonic gifts.
Another possibility: what if the Demon believes that Sam's and all the others like him powers can be harnessed, taken or used by the Demon once they are at full strength, adding all those gifts to it's own powers that it already has?
See what I'm sayin?
I don't think it's so much what Sam is (demon spawn--which I don't understand anyone thinking that cause John said he knew and no way would John have allowed Sam to live if he were demon anything!, angel, reincarnation of a legend or legendary hero, etc.). I think it's about Sam's powers. And I think that the Demon killed Mary and Jess in an attempt to accelerate Sam's powers growing. As it said "they got in the way of my plans for you."
So anyway, that's my theory. I expect it'll be shot out of the water in the next post but that's the way I'm leaning anyway, right now.
Anyone else?Comment

A normal person possessed is a bad-a$$ - but if a person, that already has powers of their own, is possessed... you get a MEGA bad-a$$.Comment

10/11 - Executive producer Eric Kripke confirmed to TVGuide.com's Angel Cohn that we'll find out what Papa Winchester's final words to Dean were around mid-season. (Hint: It pertains to Sam and other "kids like him.")Comment

I still think John whispered something like "Dean, take care of your brother. The demon wants him, to use his powers for evil You musn't let that happen. Even if it means your death."
Or some such.Comment

Yah, I'd believe that!Comment

I think that Sam and all the other kids are half-demons.
Maybe his mom got raped or, it was a one night stand with a possessed human, or demon in human form...Comment

I am hoping it is more along the lines that the Demon is planning on using Sam and the other children like him to form an army of sorts to fight a battle of Good vs. Evil. The Demon didn't necessarily cause these children to have these powers, but picked up on them and wants to exploit them for his own gain.Comment
